    Any places to save money?

Hey guys, so I had a major crash in budget, and I'm now looking at something like this for the time being?

    http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/KMXw

I will be looking to upgrade in the future, and I am very keen on keeping the CPU, so long as its more beneficial than getting say an i3, and then upgrading my GPU for a similar price. The games I play are along the lines of Torchlight 2, WoW, Starcraft, Diablo etc etc So not very demanding games.

If anyone can come up with a way to save money, or to upgrade things for the same price, then please feel free to help.

    Thanks guys

you do know that gpu is a multimedia card and not at all intended for gaming. (nor that it would perform decent in the first place)
i'd save some more instead of buying that.

It is intended for gaming... Please feel free to go onto youtube and look at video's of the cards performance on games, despite being less than £50

Do you already have a case?

Also, yes that card is indeed for media. Lowest I would go is 7770 GHz for gaming.

I was thinking for example, will I need that PSU? Or can I get a cheaper one, so then I can get a better GPU?

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

    CPU: Intel Core i3-3220 3.3GHz Dual-Core Processor (£89.94 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: MSI B75MA-P45 Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard (£41.40 @ Aria PC)
    Memory: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£32.70 @ Dabs)

Video Card: MSI Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB Video Card (£84.54 @ Aria PC)
Power Supply: XFX ProSeries 450W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply (£36.18 @ Aria PC)
Other: Crappy Case From Friend (£10.00)
    Total: £337.58
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

This is probably how I would go with the setup. If you can fudge the extra 50 quid for the 3470, it would be worth it.

Also, sorry, missed the case from friend as I am not used to seeing the case in that placement.

You could also drop to 4GB of RAM, but I probably wouldn't, since it really isn't THAT much cheaper.

I was thinking of going with this maybe?

If I can get the extra cash and get this, as most games favour nVidia, and blizzard games often tend to, so I'm leaning more to the nVidia side. Reckon that's good too?

I wouldnt go with that last setup. The 550Ti is getting on 2 generations old, and definitely performs worse than the 7770GHz.

    ~£7 more for: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/KPcf

That includes the 7770 and a bit better RAM.

What is your current computer? Maybe it more worth-it to upgrades pieces instead of getting this build that you will need to change when you'll want to play a newer game

    Edit:
Idrinkwhiterussian last build is a lot better than the first one you linked, the few buck more totally worth it

And are you sure that your friend case can fit your motherboard??
    My first build:
Storage: Kingston SSD Now V200+ 120G and WD Caviar Blue HDD 500 G
    Processing Units: i5-3570k @ 3.8 Ghz cooled by 212 Evo and MSI Twin Frozr 3, R7850 @ 900, 1200
Mobo, Ram, PSU Gigabyte Z77-D3H and G.Skill ripjaw 2x 4G with XFX 550w
If I am unreadable, its not because I hate grammar, its because Im french-canadian

Most standard cases will fit a m-atx board. Some just look REALLY silly while doing so. (Think HAF-X with M-ATX MB)

Was thinking about prebuild (like dell or hp case) that only fix the default mobo size
    My first build:
Storage: Kingston SSD Now V200+ 120G and WD Caviar Blue HDD 500 G
    Processing Units: i5-3570k @ 3.8 Ghz cooled by 212 Evo and MSI Twin Frozr 3, R7850 @ 900, 1200

If you would like to go Nvidia, the next step up from a 7770 is a 650 Ti.

    $115: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/giga...rd-gvn65toc1gi

Would an amd apu be suitable here? he could later add a cheap GPU like the 7670 and crossfire it with the apu and get decent frames, no other options apart from what has been said here.

To be honest, APUs are almost never worth considering. The cost of going for an A10-5800K with fast RAM is about the same as going with a G860/G2020 + 7770 except the 7770 is far superior.
