    Breath of Fire 3

I've owned Breath of Fire 3 about...well, 3 times, and the first two copies I traded in, the last I bought off eBay to be able to play again. Love the game, and wanted to play it again, but unfortunately my PS1 quit working.

So I was curious, short of buying a PSP or PSX, is there any way to play this game? Anymore? It's about time all these old games of yore come onto something like Steam.

It's hard to say no to Yoo-Hoo chocolate drinks...the name literally beckons.

They did re-release BoF3 on the PSP but only in Japan and Europe, thought I don't remember if the PSP is region locked (don't think it is), but that is an option. You could also find a PS2 or a Backwards compatible PS3 to play your disc.

Those are really the only legal ways to play it.

And I do agree that many of these games should just be release on PSN/XBLA/Steam/ect., and honestly can't believe some of them haven't yet.

Is it not released on the PSNetwork? I know quite a few old playstation games are on there (Legend of Dragoon for example)

I am pretty sure BoF4 is but I am not sure about 3.

Bummer. I LOVED BoF3 too and would snatch that on the PSN in a heartbeat if it was there!

Yea it's driving me insane, there are so many older, "hole in the wall" games id love to go back and play, like BoF3, Brave Fencer Musashi, Etc.

Sad thing is I've purchased all these games in the past, still have many, with no way to play them.

Just use an emulator then, if you own the game and can rip the rom yourself its legal, supposedly. Im not sure which the best ps1 emulator is though and if you would need to some how get the bios of your ps1.

If I've bought the game before, I have no moral qualms whatsoever with emulating it. My older playstation consoles no longer work, a lot of them haven't been rereleased, and they're too good not to play again. I've already paid for them anyway, some of them multiple times. If you go that route, I suggest ePSXe. Works extremely well for nearly everything for me.

I second the emulator suggestion! I play BoF3 again every year or two.. Have gone through about 8 play throughs over the last 12 years. Was one of my first RPGs and I still love it.

With an emulator, you can just play the actual disc itself. I visited my sister with my import copy of Suikoden 3 the other day (Damn you for no PAL release of that game Konami!) and we were able to get the game running no problem with a PS2 emulator.

I've played some of my PS1 discs emulated before myself. I won't comment on ROMs or disc images, but the emulators can play the games themselves. Now if only there was an easy and non virus ridden way to get my PS3 pads to work on PC (NOTE: I'm too lazy to actually check for such a thing)

Do you have a PS3? All PS3s will play PS1 discs.

LOL. Why do I always forget that its only PS2 games that aren't supported on all PS3 models?

Loved the game! the ending boss is kinda easy (killed her on the first try on my first run) but the game itself is georgeus!

Heh yea by the time you reach the end boss most of the time you're pretty overlevelled...

Some of the bosses in between got me stuck on my very first try though (playing when I was 13).. I think it was one of the Balio/Sunder fights or the one in the mines that had me irritated for awhile. I never tried the super hard fights on my first two playthroughs (the ones at the container yard map) cos they seemed impossible.

Really miss dragon gene combinations. We need a BoF3 part 2!

3 is on the PS1 and PSP. Or, alternatively an emulator (which I use since I lost my PS1 while moving.. lucky I didn't lose my stash of PS1 games at least!).

I actually looked yesterday on my PSP and BoF3 is not on there . BoF3 is by far my favorite out of the series, I still have my original PS copy.
