This thing was datamined and the model is called the 'Heart of Y'Shaarj.' Who knows what an actual Old God's heart really looks like - could be an actual organ or this swirling core of dark energy, or whatever. But that's what it's called.

I could be completely wrong, but to me It seems like his heart was "Removed" (Whether that be physically or otherwise) and locked in this odd container, and then chained underneath the earth, as per old god lore.

At least, that's what I can draw from that picture.

I'm not sure if it's Y'shaarj, Old Gods thus far have only shown to cause death and never the opposite. However, they're so mystical right now, we can't possibly know all of their aspects, the only Old God we've really seen cause a lot of death thus far is none other than the Old God of Death.
Also C'thun who is the God of Insanity :P
I think that it is possible Y'shaaj, though I think the Titans did it to seal the Vale. Then entrusting it to Ra-den to watch over Pandaria (possibly the Auguest Celestial's too, but as far as I know there is no information on there origins), of course Lei-Shen ripped out his heart etc.

Though if this sound file is correct then i doubt he is behind it... I think his aspect is Suffering considering half those clips had him talking about pain and suffering (could just be into BDSM though).

Y'shaarj seems to be about corrupting our emotions. I think the klaxxi describe him as having seven heads, one that breathed hope and exhaled despair, courage into fear etc. And the Sha, being his 'last breath' or whatever seem to reflect this.

Darkshore seems not that fertile, despite having old god (?) corpse. Btw, have anyone noticed similarities with said Darkshore squid-corpse and squid-thingy in Klaxxi cellar ceiling?

    darkshore has loads of trees.

besides, that's not an old god. it's a very big faceless.

you know what this means? Silithus and Uldum will be rain forests in a few decades (C'thun). Now, we only need goblins to blow up a side of the mountain in Silithus so that clouds can get in and water the valleys.

Oh yeah, I figured that was a titan containment unit or something. I was speculating on the appearance of whatever's inside it.

C'thun didn't cause a lot of deaths during his awakening in Ahn'Qiraj though, he just awoke, then he had the crap beaten out of him, and then he fell asleep again.
