Tosh - Not a fan of his routine, but he does an amazing job at portraying a subject in a sarcastic light that makes me think about topics hes talking about.
The Gregory Brothers - Not sure if they consider themselves comedy, but they do some damn funny stuff.
I saw Carlos Mencia live last year in a small local comedy club and he spent a good half hour explaining to us that he could've been at Mohegan Sun that night making 6 figures but he chose to be at that club making a few thousand because he prefers it. Whether he was delusional and just trying to justify that he's no longer a major act that can book big arenas, or whether it was all true and he was just really proud of his silly self-righteousness, it left a really bad taste in my mouth. And this was after giving him the benefit of the doubt on stealing jokes. He's a pretty funny guy but he really has a knack for rubbing people the wrong way.
Rikcy Gervais along with Jimmy Carr would be my suggestions. I hesitate to say Danny Boyle because that accent is not ideal to try and decipher while playing a videogame!
Although I am only 30 years old I do still love the classics, mainly thanks to my dad who got me into alot of comedy to begin with. As you can tell from this list I am obviously British. Shame to see only 2 Americans made the list which is shocking as I do like alot of American comedians, especially their classics too, but these ones spring to mind almost immediately.
Billy Connolly
Jasper Carrot
The Two Ronnies
Tommy Cooper
Morecambe and Wise
Robin Williams
Bill Bailey
