    Mobo and RAM

    Will G.skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR2 (http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=390) work on Asus P8Z77-V LK (http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/Inte...155/P8Z77V_LK/)

Thing that concerns me is that that ram has 1.25V

    99% sure it will.

Lower voltage is not a problem. Z77's maximum recommended voltage for RAM is 1.5v but there's no minimum.

I use low voltage RAM on a Asus motherboard (different model) with no issues.

I also use the same RAM on an Asus MB, so I would say you have no problems.

What exactly does sticking a toy gun shape onto ram improve?

The ability to pretend to be an Action Hero? *shrug* But yes, there should be no issues with putting lower voltage RAM onto a motherboard unless explicitly stated.

You do realize the name of the module is SNIPER? There is nothing more to be inferred from this. It is a RAM module that is aimed (oh look at me being so punny) at people who play FPS games/gamers in general.

    Create brand recognition perhaps?

It will work and should have exceptional overclocking capabilities!

The RAM comes with the design by default (brand recognition as I mentioned) your Civic does not.

    And gold painted rims!

DDR3 memory sticks do not need any kind of cooling in addition to case fans, all of the metal crap attached to those is just branding, advertising and standing up from the crowd.

RAM heatsinks are more to rice up the RAM than actually promote brand recognition. The heatsinks are there to look cool (aka ricing).

There's nothing wrong with it, but there's no reason to pay more for a bigger heatsink.

No one said there was a reason to pay more. G.SKILL Sniper are usually right around the average/lower cost RAM either way. Brand/theme or whatever you wanna call it (rifle/sniper), you know what I'm talking about.
