    Flame & Frost, Retribution - April patch

    In secret foundries deep beneath the Shiverpeaks, the Molten Alliance forges deadly new weaponry that combine the fiery power of the Flame Legion with the iron might of the dredge. There, Alliance weapon smiths test their creations on innocent captives, perfecting their cruel technology until it is ready to unleash on all of Tyria.

    In the last chapter of the Flame and Frost series, you’ll strike at the heart of the Molten Alliance with your comrades Rox the charr and the norn Braham. Take the battle into the enemy’s weapons facilities and defeat a final hybrid menace unlike any Tyria has ever seen!

    We don't know much yet, but from the sound of this "Take the battle into the enemy’s weapons facilities and defeat a final hybrid menace unlike any Tyria has ever seen!" I think we may get an event like in Southsun Cove?

    I was going to say "Awesome, liked the last part!" until I noticed that this is the " last chapter of the Flame and Frost series".

    Confusing. Sounds a little early to let the series come to an end since the two characters are only a few weeks in the game.

    I'm getting a new dungeon vibe. I just hope its separate from the story so i can see it through the end myself. I liked the solo instances thing last patch. Other than that, dear lord please let this be the patch for race change <.<

    i agree i dont even know why the dredge and flame legion are atacking in the first place.. but i geuss thats part of the mystery

    I liked some of the combined periscope/random event encounters that came with the latest patch. But I'd like to see the actual story progress. The questions of why and what purpose need to be out there. Right now it just feels all so random.

    I agree 100%

    I love the game, but this living story content... pretty disappointing for me so far. They should have made the world more relevant, +adding much more dynamic events instead of introducing new content which is gone soon. It seems to me that the live-team which worked on the events is now working on the living story... correct me if I'm wrong. What else are they doing?

    It's all about what they will bring to us besides that. I don't really care for the living story. Nice concept, progressive concept (they are still learning with their own trial/errors), I liked the last patch even tho Living Story wasn't as in depth as they could.

    I had fun, I don't care if it's the last "patch on that". The alliance seems fragile and I can't wait for them to bring the next Living Story. But in the end it will be about pvp changes/class changes.

    Honestly: I would like them to stop producing new content (Living Story, New Pvp Maps, New Events) for maybe just 1 patch. And just work on what's already there. Such as trait skill (one of my biggest gripe on the game right now), class balance, build balance, weapon balance (ultimately together)... their "We are doing it slowly.." is not going anywhere.

    well they have completely seperate teams for balance

    Regardless how they choose to work I think it's fairly obvious how it's working out so far XD. I think something could change...dont you?

    Adding more people to the team doesn't always improve the time it takes to get things done, nor does it ensure that balance will occur.

    I'm not saying anything like that. I'm just saying that while they are learning from trying out the whole guesting/overflow/dailies/living story and more features in a good "rate", one of the most important ones are getting behind. No matter how they are working (but I'm aware of how they are) it isn't really working out so far, they don't seem to be learning anything much. Balance Builds/Balance Class (sPvp/Pvp/WvW) and Improve some less "polished" features like traits (Screams for help here ) are like a snowball and they add up much more quickly than whatever examples I gave so far plus even puzzles/holidays and so much more. It get's heavier and heavier. I didn't state the change they could make, I just thought they could try another approach or at least communicate a bit better with us on those aspects (Sad to look tooltip fixes mostly). If changing it up is bring more people sure, or just go more aggressively changing between patches, or minor changes or 2 week basis and I could go on.

    We need a pvp subforum or a pvp thread at the very least.

    I'm sorry could I be in the wrong place? Talking about my hopes for a patch? Trait system and build balance is just used by pvpers nowadays? My mistake...

    EDIT: Not to mention that pvp balance is one of the most left behind features. So yes this topic will probably have some of it

    Just because this needs to be said every now and then amid enthusiast rhetoric: This is chiefly a World of Warcraft forum and website. Any possibility of a subforum for an MMO or game that is not World of Warcraft is very unlikely.

    This is not the "Guild Wars 2 super fanz only" subforum either. In all subforums we allow open debate, contrasting views, opinions and so on within respectable reason of the topic and language used.

    I am sorry, but none of the video game subforums act as high five clubs.

    Seems like we'll go underground to fight the Alliance. Maybe we'll get some type of indication on how Primordus fight setting will be.

    I don't have many complaints about the balance and how traits work tbf, both my thief and guardian seem to work fine, and now my up coming necromancer. I'd love if they put in new weapon types tho, would be amazing.

    what do you guys expect from this months update? A few new missions? A new dungeon? A new fractal?

    Personally I liked the possibility to do the missions alone. It's a multiplayergame, yes... but during the last weeks I could only play from 0:00-2:00am and all my friends were sleeping already. I wonder if it is possible to design a dungeon that way, to make it playable by very small groups (1-3 people). I heard other games did this sucessfully.

    but please... no more boring waves

    I loved the once-in-a-lifetime Karka event back in November, it was so unique, lasted three hours on my server, and the rewards were surprisingly good, some people got precursors, and everyone got at least a really good accessory and a 20-slot bag. I hope the last chapter is something a like ( although I kinda doubt it.)

    The living story is an interesting concept, and they have said that "Flame & Frost" is just a little bit of what living story can be, so I'm excited for the future of it.

    I also don't see much of this "so very needed class balance". It's not every teams job to ensure this either, bugger off with the "no content for a month so they can all magically channel the Ritual of Balance together".

    I expect we get 2 new mini dungeons like we did this patch helping rox and the norn take down the molten alliance and then help refuges move to southsun cove or something.

    That's it.

    From the last 3 patches, excluding adventure box. There has really been nothing to these updates and even the 2 mini dungeons we have now are dead boring, it was just Kill X and watch the story unfold. Nothing interesting. Not even the reward was good, a karma box.... a freaken karma box. Do you know how much karma I have because there is nothing to buy with them?
