Too bad people only fall for images and facades. What's behind that is a completely different ballgame.

But winning is not about doing something with class; it's about reaching an objective within clear boundaries.
Actually, winning AND losing with class is ALL that matters. That is where you will find yourself disagreeing with many. I am not alone in this sentiment.

That is solely an interpretation. You can't decide what matters to me.

Are we not just giving opinions here? You do realize that your opinion is no more valid than anyone else's, right?

It didn't look like opinions to me. Sounded like you stated as a fact that winning and losing with class was ALL that mattered. Doesn't sound really opiniated.

So perhaps you should ask yourself the very same questions you asked me. It would be much more fitting.

I think he was implying that the subjective part is how we interpret those results

What if I said I scored 100% on a test am I a success? Almost definitely

What if I then said the test had one question which was What is your name? Personally I don't think that is all much of a success, it might be for you. That's the subjective part.

Well it all comes down to definition. Success basically comes down to achieving objectives. What objectives are there in a name? A successful name? I hardly see how that is possible. A success-inspiring name, perhaps due to those who wore it before? Then the subject becomes the inspiration, rather than the success itself.

What are you talking about? The objective is to get the question correct, nothing more.

The subjective part is where you are setting the bar.

Never mind. You clearly had something else in mind than what I had. You seemed a bit hostile about it, and I don't feel like fighting over it for 5 pages.

Yes I think we had crossed wires, sorry if I came over as hostile

Guys who let people walk all over them and then have a passive-aggressive whinefest and call being passive "nice", finish last.

Besides that has nothing to do with winning or losing gracefully in a sporting competition.

For that matter, neither does :

Being a good sport does not mean you have to softball your opponent. It means you take the winning/activity of the sport or competition for it's own sake and not play or act in a disrespectful manner.

Give it your all, and expect your opponent to do the same - but there is no need to have harsh feelings over it on either side.

That said, I would rather not play against someone who can't win or lose without grace. Since this is a WoW forum, think to PvP. How fun was/is it to play with or against someone who consistently has to berate everyone whether they win or lose?

Being nice has little to do with your performance. Don't confuse it with naiveté or foolishness.
