Is a Spirit of Competition any good as a battle pet?

Every pet is good as a battle pet, it depends on what you're fighting, Spirit of Competition has the nice advantage of being a dragonkin, as you don't fight many humanoids, it doesn't receive a great deal of strong attacks, and has damage mitigation against flying, which is not an uncommon wild species. It can also self heal, always useful, and it's 2 main abilities (breath or tail sweep(a good choice as it's speed isn't fantastic)) are pretty strong (as are most dragonkin abilities), for the last ability you can opt for a dot or a damage avoidance (fly), but yes, definitely have a few high level dragonkins, and that's as good as any.

    Cool, thanks.

What's the optimum types to have at max level?
I don't like my current team so was gonna level em again.

    Everything

For the fable beasts I have a varied collection, for the beast types I use Mini Thor and Lil XT (Mechs) and any third one. For the aquatic ones I use 3 moths (flying), for the critter types I use 3 beasts (zandalari anklebiter, kun lai runt (a humanoid but i use his beast abilities) and grove spider.

When fighting the pet trainers you need to look at each of their pets and basically use the counter (so if they use an aquatic, you go for flying moves). For leveling new pets (once you have some 25s) my choice is to stick to valley of the four winds and use a couple of spiders (beast type) or a zandalari anklebiter. Put your low level out for 1 round, then swap to the spider or anklebiter, both have self healing and are strong versus critter, so makes leveling low levels nice and quick (ish).

My first party to level 25 was Mini Thor (mech), Frosty (undead) and Singing Sunflower (lemon). I like mech and undead ressurection capabilities

Hmm, I have too much flying on my team. I have a Pterrordax Hatchling, Spirit of Competition and a Phoenix Hatchling, but I don't know which two to ditch.

First thing to ditch is Bitch McIncestSpawn as your ava, Ely.
