I think not, since the Dungeon Journal doesn't list it when filtering gear for mages. What is really odd is that later (6th boss?) there is a spirit staff and that one IS on the list of mage gear.

You can not coin and gear that has Spirit as a static stat for socket bonus stat. The dungeon journal is always messed up and really shouldn't be used for much.

1*This sword is not mage BiS(we dont use items with spirit)
2*For mage BiS is Nadagast's Exsanguinator with really low drop rate from bosses or Venomlord's Totemic Wand till you get something better

He said it's HUMAN mage BiS. 1% hit racial equals 340 hit rating and you can reforge 144 of 361 spirit =(340+144-361)=> you have 123 more "useful" secondary stats (108 if you compare it to the other two items directly).

This sword is surely better then Horridons wand for human mages. For the rare drop crit/hit dagger its a close call.

Sword vs wand:

Sword:

+23 crit
+340 exp (equals haste at bis gear)
+175 spirit reforged (equals haste at bis gear)


Wand:
+478 haste

The rare drop crit/hit dagger versus the sword:

Sword (including gemslot):
+500 hit
+175 spirit reforged (most likely to haste)

Dagger (including gemslot):
+500 hit
+115 crit

So the question is, does 115 crit beat 175 haste. I'm not sure but the difference is going to be so insanely small you can safely take whatever weapon drops first for you (which is very likely to be jin'rokhs sword since not many classes need it).

I wouldn't mind, if the http://www.wowhead.com/item=95506 would drop from a bonus roll! But if the Spirit Sword from Jin'rokh drops, there indeed is a good chance I can be one of the wearers of that.

So two specs versus three? Let me fall back on the old argument I would use when I wanted gear over healers: the more DPS we do, the shorter the fights are, the less healing you have to do. Used to work like a charm in ICC.

Also if its BiS it doesnt matter how many healers might want/need it, I am gonna roll on it aswell. Luckily in my 25man guild we only have 1 healing paladin and 0 healing monks

the hc TF spirit sword from Jin'rokh is for sure better than the hc non-TF wand for any race,fire POV.
sword with +577 sp,+47 crit,-270 haste assuming you reforge spirit to haste,577 sp +47 crit will always beat 270 haste.

oh come on healing back then was like spam that heal :P (i still remember losing shard of woe to shammy healers on our kill T.T and was shardless until t13)

but i do agree this tier (especially on heroic there seems to be alot of dps checks)

Yes, it is BiS. Yes, you should roll for it against your paladins/monks, it's BiS for you as well. no, it cannot be coined.

Lets face it. Im a pandaren Mage, we only have a Monk in our raidsetup who can use this and he has the Heroic version. It dropped on our second Jin'rokh kill again. Heroic TF.

I took it.. Its the 4th best weapon that drops in this instance, only toppped by the other 1Hand weapons and only if they are Heroic Thunderforged. and than only than by a maximum of 1000 DPS to the max.

I think it is a worth weapon until you get anything else on that level
