Found this behemoth of a spider, need help IDing it

Hello fellow spider haters and lovers of the like!
We were cleaning up and stacking wood in our shop a week ago and came across this lovely creation:

As you can see, he is rather large.
Hes very agressive and destroys anything I put in his jar, given that it is alive.
I put a female mosquito in there, and it was subsequently annihilated.
I also fed him two daddy long legs, of which he striped of their legs and consumed aswell. (I know, inhumane cannibalism!)
He doesnt like flies unless they are living, he rolls them under his web and goes about his business. This applies to anything else I've put in there.

He has a very distinct patter on his back, but I haven't been able to find anything that is like it.
I thought maybe he was a brown recluse, after looking at pictures I crossed that one out.

We have a blueberry farm outside of our workshop. The grass has grown very long (waist high) and we cut it down just recently which may also help explain why he has ventured in.
I live in Oregon, about a 30 minute drive out from the Portland area. Its farm land around here.

If anyone can help me identify it and get some information about it, that would be great.
We've been keeping him in a jar as a pet out in the shop, not sure what we're going to do with him.
Would be cool to know what they eat, if they need water? or anything else helpful.

I just realized I added two links to the same picture

Here is the 3rd picture I meant to include, a direct overhead view.

Found another one today in the sink out in the shop right by where we keep the original one.

Looks like this might be the culprit.

they live near portland, are simillar in size to what you have there and have very similar markings.

btw, great write-up for figuring it out. Your geographic location and where exactly you found it, and the sizing scale in the pictures really helped
I had a cool sig... then photobucket ate my pics and now its borked. :/ oh wells...

Not hairy enough to be a wolf spider. But I agree on the killing it part.
    It's pronounced "Dur-av-ian."

Looks something like the common house (more likely my bedroom) spider from the UK tbh.

Definitely brown recluse, you can identify it by the legs and the unique "violin" pattern on it's abdomen. They are very dangerous, kill it immediately.

Edit: also could be a hobo spider based on your location (Which I didn't see until just now)

Cute, thought I got no idea what kind of spider it is.

Where I live there are no poisonous ones, at least none that are lethal, so I leave them alone -- they are great pest control.

looks like a wolf spider from that list that narzinor linked. I think you should find an area infested with creepy crawlies and unleash your little engine of destuction upon them. Or maybe train him as some sort of pocket sized gladiator

Definitely a Hobo spider. They are pretty common in the Pacific Northwest of the US, even though it's not a native spider to our continent. Damn Europeans brought it over! lol

yeah, I looked at some photos of them, looks like its really a hobo spider.
It's venom is not as dangerous as the brown recluse but it is necrotic in nature. Whatever you do, do not get bit is my advice
Edit: I never thought i'd say that for a spider, but he/she's beautiful D:

Don't kill him. If anything befriend him to protect your house.

Instead of killing spiders people should really work on getting rid of their fears.

I have a katana I use to kill any kind of critters that gets into my home -_-

While I agree for the most part, the venom of the hobo spider can be necrotic. They avoid human contact though, so just don't provoke it or play with it lol

I don't see the violin characteristic on it, and he doesn't seem to be hairy enough for a wolf spider.
    He does not jump.

I added a third pic of a direct overhead view, ill link it again here

I think i'm going to go with the Hobo spider.
The chevrons and 2 dark band characteristics are very much there. This one just seems a bit more badass than what the wiki picture has xD
