Is the 5 x 8 work week obsolete?

5x7hours a week, 6 weeks paid vacation, 100k$ a year. Retire at 60.

I would prefer 4 on 4 off or 3*13. But currently I am working 5 by 8. I just prefer the idea of doing all of my work and then getting a long break. Then again that might get boring after a while. (i would hate the breaks to be taken after each day however I would want it 4 days of work then 4 days off)
