    Can you live in Chernobyl?

They say its a ghost city, but Jesus, have you seen how big the city actually is? It's scary to think no one lives there.

Did you think this question through?

There are a few(as in very few) people living there, I saw a great documentary about it a year or so back. There is a russian scientist living in the area. he grows his own fruit/veggies. Some are uneatable(too high levels), some are perfectly fine.

Here is one thing I found really cool, since the area has been abondoned for so long now the ecosystem there is almost perfect as far as wildlife goes.
The nerve is called the "nerve of awareness". You cant dissect it. Its a current that runs up the center of your spine. I dont know if any of you have sat down, crossed your legs, smoked DMT, and watch what happens... but what happens to me is this big thing goes RRRRRRRRRAAAAAWWW! up my spine and flashes in my brain... well apparently thats whats going to happen if I do this stuff...

It won't be safe to live in for a few millenia, but people do live there.

So there's no Internet, food service, or anything?

Sure you can if you want to grow a extra eyeball and eat food that has a nice green glow to it

Well, after the chernobyl disaster Ukrainian officials estimated that it would at least take about 20 000 years before humans can live there again. So to answer you question:
"YES" you just have to wait about 20000 years...approximately

You can probably live there, but health problems are bound to occur at some point.

if you like glowing in the dark it's an awesome place to live....but really, no you may be able to go into some areas for a short while(probably less that a day) before you manage to get a lethal dose of radiation

The guy(russian scientist) who lived in the contaminated area, inside the forbidden zone had a truck coming in with the stuff he needed. And yes he had lived there for while when the documentary was filmed(was aired on telly here 2011). Need to dig up the name of the documentary. But he did grow and eat veggies/fruits in the garden of the house he lived in. Powered stuff with a generator. Had sat phone.

Interesting shit. And he was there with the purpose to study the area of course. Probably a bit nuts to live that way still though. ;P

You can go to Chernobyl as a tourist btw. It will not kill you.

There are loads of places like Chernobyl that nobody lives in. Do a quick Google search and you will find some really interesting places just abandoned for various reasons. Off the top of my head there is the battleship place in Japan, some weird ball like structures I'm sure are in Japan as well, the set of quite a few movies such as Star Wars and The Hobbit built full sized villages and quite a number of Olympic stadiums/villages are abandoned now.

The answer is Yes. No one lives in the actual City but they do live outside of it. They have health problems though.. Youtube has alot of videos of inhabitants around the city. Why any one would want to live there is beond me though and is asking to be killed. Its like people staying at home when they KNOW in x days a hurricane will hit them, then complain they lost loved ones. Like, what?

It seems its OP day of making weird threads, first that we should institute torture in prisons to 'make them feel guilty' and now this.

    It's that bad?
What do you think after a nuclear meltdown, have you any knowledge at all of the hazzards of nuclear contaminations?
But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

You can't live inside the city, however the outskirts of the city should be somewhat 'safe' as in you might not die a horribly painful death due to radiation poisoning.

People think no, but it is not proven yet. There is animals and they are doing very well. Scientists still wait to see if the animals can make it. But so far it is not proven that you will die or get sick, there is very big possibility but it is not yet proven.

I seem to recall they allow people over a certain age to live in some contaminated places.
