    Youtube lowers fps?

    Hello.
I don't know if it's an actual thing or not, but...
I upload a video on Youtube that runs at 60 fps.
When I view that video on Youtube, it only runs at like 30 fps, if even that.
I don't know, if that means that Youtube lowers the amount of fps on the video...
...or if it has to do with my computer (laptop) or some sort program or the way that Youtube deals with videos.
Just wondering: does Youtube actually lower the fps of a video?

    - Thanks -

Yes youtube lowers the framerate of videos uploaded to it to 30fps.

If you uploaded a video to youtube that is running at 250fps it will still get lowered to 30fps.

As far as I know Youtube recompresses every video they recive and their default FPS is 30.

The above confirm, default 30FPS - a Human eye cannot register anything above 30 frames no-matter what anyone tells you so it's pointless having anything above

    actually you can notice it.

as you can probably see the 30 fps one is a bit clunky

lol. The human eye is not only capable of distinguishing between 30 and 60, but also 60 and 120 too.
Gaming in 30fps is just horrible, absolutely horrible. I can't stand anything below 60 these days. Ideally 120. Anything below 120 is extremely obvious.

This whole "you can't see beyond 30fps" nonsense has got to stop.

Ah, I see... Well, this sucks a little bit... I love how beautiful it looks when it's 60fps... Oh well...
Is there like absolutely no way at all to upload videos to Youtube in a way that Youtube doesn't cut the fps down to 30fps?
    ...
And also, yeah, the eye is a very good processor. It depends on the person: Normally a human's eye can process about 80 to 120fps, but sometimes the eye works even better and can process up to 160 or even 180fps. And obviously if the eye has problems, it can go down to 60 or even 40fps. Those high and low fps diseases/advantages don't happen too often though.
As for me, I can see a very good difference between 30 and 60fps, and that's why I can so totally see how much worse the Youtube fps is compared to the 60fps file that's on my laptop. Youtube probably softens the graphics a little bit too, doesn't it?
But for the last thing, let's come back to the question: "Is there absolutely no way to stop Youtube from cutting down your fps to 30?"
    - Thanks -

I'm only asking the "Is there absolutely no way---" question because I think I've seen people on Youtube that have videos that feel like they have a higher fps while watching it. I don't know if that's true or not, but I feel like if it's true, it might be some sort of an upgrade to you if you get better at Youtube, like the "you can upload longer videos on Youtube" one...
Does that sort of an upgrade as "Upload videos with a higher frame rate" exist? Or is it just an illusion...

The "human eye can only see at 30 FPS" is bullshit

It has nothing to do with the whole 'human eye 30 fps' silliness. It's because youtube would become unmanageably large from a server infrastructure standpoint (at least with currently marketable and profitable technology) if a huge chunk of its videos had enormous filesizes due to framerates.

If you see somebody on youtube that you think has a better FPS than 30, chances are they've simply used some clever editing techniques to make the picture blend a bit more seamlessly from one frame to the next.

    Lulwhat?

    I must be superhuman.

I dont even like watching 60fps anymore after seeing how much better 120fps is.

30fps is horrendous to my eyes.

By your logic, I am superman!

I would advise against making blunt posts like this. If you need to express something like this, I'd either do it more kindly or not at all.

No. Youtube simply doesn't allow it.

What bothers me... is YouTube has already supported 4k resolution videos for some time... yet still hasn't added support for 60 fps videos, not even at the 720p resolution... Being someone who likes uploading videos to YouTube of gaming footage, it bothers me that they have such a crappy limit.

Vimeo does 60FPS but I'm not sure if they allow gaming content anymore.

Well, movies are generally in 24 fps. And they take up far more space with more FPS, so I can understand why. I don't agree with it.
