    Demo RBG tank

Can anyone confirm/deny if Demo with Dark Apotheosis is a viable RBG tank?

With the nerf to conventional tank specialisations in RBGs warlock would be the ideal choice with the massive damage reductions and mobility.

I heard somewhere that Demo+DA was also nerfed for RBGs specifically.

    Looking for some hard evidence.

Demo warlocks are considered as tanks in RBG and are taking 50% extra damage when carrying a flag.
    The answer is no.

Can you prove that? Is there a post somewhere or a debuff or something?

Warlocks aren't allowed to tank 5 mans. Warlocks are considered tanks in RBGs and are nerfed accordingly. Fuck you Ghostcrawler.

I carry flags in RBGs all the time on my lock with dark apotheosis it actually makes grp easier to put together as well. stack mastery sac voidwalker for last stand and glyph into darksoul for extra dmg reduction. i didnt notice if i had the debuff but i didnt have a problem living

    This is the patch note
Picking up the Alliance or Horde flag while in a Rated Battleground now increases damage taken by 50% for characters in a tanking specialization, and increases damage taken by 20% for characters in a non-tanking specialization.

can anyone confirm/deny if the 50% damage taken increase applies to warlocks using Dark Apotheosis
I still have not received a concrete answer.

There was a thread about this a few days ago and it does.
We are considered a tank in BGS with DA, but not in dungeons or raids.

Yeah ok someone just explained it to me just now
Is it if you have the glyph enabled? or just if you enable DA in the BG
this change is so unclear, I'm not sure what Blizz were thinking

In that case, I'm not sure I'd bother playing Demo tank in RBGs, it's DA that has all the real damage mitigators
and I'm sure I'd be just as sought after as a dps warlock.

It completely is. That being said, you can make a mean Demo tank, up until at least ~1700 (my CR this season so far).

Someone may want to post on the Blizzard Forums about this and see if they can get an answer from a Blue. Its possible that DA being marked as a Tank Spec is leftover from Beta or something.

I believe it's an intentional double-standard. The first few iterations of the 5.3 PTR had all Warlocks, Dark Apo. or not, taking the standard non-tank debuff.

It would be easier to Tweet ghostcrawler, I imagine. You wouldn't get a blue response on the EU warlock forums atleast..

I think it's intentional though. Imagine how OP we'd be if it wasn't there, as tanks, in RBGS >: )
