    Toffie's first build has plenty of room for purchasing a quality PSU ($100), and even going for a 2GB 650Ti BOOST will give the OP $80 to play with. And the 965 Black, whilst a decent CPU, is pretty mediocre when for $50-60 more, you can have current technology, rather than 4-year-old tech. The processors are more "efficient" in terms of energy:IPC ratio, saving some money in the medium term on electricity, which may not be an irrelevant issue for the OP.

    The above statement only holds if and only if the user isn't playing any CPU bound games. CPU bound games include: WoW and most MMOs, Skyrim and other RPGs, as well as Borderlands 2 and other console ports.
