The issue lies with soul swap more than any single trinket. Any decent set of procs will behave exactly the same, and going forward all classes can look forward to having the strength of trinket procs limited by soul swap unless it changes. Note - strength as in actual numeric value not how good the trinket is.
As far as demo and UVLS goes, I'd say it's probably fine now. It's a damned good trinket for demo, but it's hardly responsible for powering demo to the pinnacle of all DPS. It just fits it well. Where demo is good now it's good thanks to the design of the spec in general, not just the ability to multi-dot some crit dooms.

Nerf, nerf, buff. Seems Cyner has her ear to the grapevine.Originally Posted by Blizzard Entertainment

Those are fake patch notes right? Please tell me this is just a sick joke
yeah I dont understand why nerf both.... one was op due to the other....
Honestly, I hate saying shit like this, but this is sort of typical blizzard approach to lock balance.... nerf shit to the ground without thought put behind it, then see how much that changes things, if the nerf was too much, maybe by the end of the tier tweak something and maybe make locks half descent again only to nerf them the patch after....
So I can basically shelf my Demo Lock for PvP? Burst with imp swarm is all it has going for it and their damage has been nerfed by 44% now, after the loss of one imp and this hotfix.

Thanks for significantly nerfing one of our two viable specializations one week in to progression blizzard.
Thanks for pigeonholing us into playing one specialization on 90% of encounters.
Like an Immolate buff is going to make Destruction comparable to Affliction on a single target encounter.
Im sorry, i just gotta say i still cant stop laughing.
Guess I won't have to deal with retarded pugs to try to get uvls anymore.
I guess I don't have to keep shooting myself for DEing my UVLS now :P
Here is how warlock balance is done it seems. They have 2 big wheel of fortune type things in the warlock balance office. One has names of abilities, other has % values. They bring in a blindfolded monkey who gets to pick one of 5 cards from a table. 3 cards say nerf, 2 say buff. Monkey picks one of the nerf cards, they spin the wheels. first one lands on wild imps, second lands on 30%.
