We thought of trying something similar to this when we were progressing on animus, decided against it though. Kinda hate it, worst boss of the tier imo.
the meta achivement and drake was removed when ulduar was release for our 2nd kill on sartharion we did zerg him so a few more could get the plagued proto - so the content was still current. however we did you 25man gear for it that had an higher ilvl but hey pritty mutch everyone that did os10+3 before ulduar used 25man gear
and will the firest DA heroc kill dit it without 5.3 buffs, legendary metas/cloaks and gear upgrades
the freya zerg was before the zone was finished, they buffed her healing with stacks to compensate
Would be fun to do just for padding and ranking's sake.
We oneshot it every week doing it the "right" way though, so kind of pointless. ToT starts to turn into a massive joke once you're sitting on ~540 ilvls.

Between ilvl upgrades, legendary metas, 600 cloaks, thunderforges, vengeance abuse and demo locks, I'm not that surprised that this strat came about.
We tried that for even more sustained vengeance. The damage was honestly to spiky and resulted in even more tank deaths xD. Since your blowing pretty much every CD @ the pull (Guardian of Ancient Kings/Pain Sup etc etc) due to the insane damage, those cds will never be up again since the enrage is at 2.5 mins. Def. do not recommend having 2 adds + Boss up for the duration of the fight since you simply won't have any CDs left apart from 1 mins.

Except there was a dev interview about raids where they specifically mentioned large golem skipping. As in, a failure in their part to properly balance Crimson Wake and making it far too annoying to deal with. But hey, since you're such a pro, go do it in "intended" way. Kite that freaking thing while trying to avoid 20 other golems. It will be fun.
I'm sure other bosses have annoying mechanics as well, but they're not skipped. The fact is, even 25m avoids an entire mechanic in the fight so the argument pertaining to the logic applies and don't also think this strat is as viable as the normal strat for progression because it relies heavily on group composition(tank/healers).
