    What are your favorite mmorpgs?

So I love WoW but feel like i need a bit of rotation. So Can you post your top 3 or 5 mmorpgs currently and why you like them.

    1) Neverwinter Online. Why? Because I'm playing it at the moment. Progression is nicely paced, graphics are quite pretty (even though there's some cloth clipping, but oh well), it's both intuitive (4e DnD) and involved (some system research is absolutely recommended), and its twitch mechanics make sure that you can't just doze off. Even though it's 'live,' it's not yet complete, so there's still loads of things that will be added to the game (and expansions are already in the making).
    2) Star Wars: The Old Republic. The graphics style is great, if you ask me; cartoony, but still engaging and moderately high quality. I really like the armour mech bounty hunter spec, it has a not-too-taxing crafting system that doesn't have too much downtime while at the same time being quite rewarding. Too bad the game got completely ruined for me because of the marketing style.
    3) World of Warcraft. Lots of development went into that game. Many different armour models, mount models, and lots and lots of content.
    4) Dungeons and Dragons online. If you're not interested in system research, just don't go there. Otherwise, it has a nice mix of static play (just pushing buttons) and twitch mechanics. A semi-Vancian casting system limits your mana severely, so you'll run out of (higher level) spells if you're not careful. Drawback: It has 'save or die' mechanics.
    5) Guild Wars 2. Honourable mention. Great graphics, innovative crafting, and has an engaging combat style. Drawbacks: Cuteness factor, and weapon-switch clunkiness. While I get that you would go that route in order to allow access to more variation in game-play, the mechanic is inelegant and not exactly user-friendly (though not incredibly hampering either; it's just a preference thing).

WoW, as much as people gripe about many things it's a damn good game.

EVE. So, much, complexity. Massive game that's hugely player driven, it's just interesting to see what goes on.

Tera. It's prettier than WoW. Stop judging me... Combat is arguably more fun than the turret-play of WoW ranged dps. I'm also not averse to the more grindy nature of the eastern mmo, personal preference.

FF11. Despite it being over a decade old and was arguably the most frustrating gaming experience for my early teenage self I don't think I could shake the nostalgia of the first mmo I played. Many servers are still active and I have to give them credit for their player community. I got on a trial account recently and met and spoke with dozens of players who were helpful in spite of my massive ignorance of the game in it's current state. It was a good lesson in humility and general manners that I am working on improving within my WoW play.

Warhammer online for the setting, not the greatest game out there but sometimes i just want to stomp some humies.

Guild Wars 2, really like that i can go play pvp at lvl 2 if i want and everyone have the same gear and what not so it's a even playing field in Spvp. Also like the events in the game when you level up.

Age of Conan for the Raids, really good raids and dungeons in that game.

Have not trie Eve Online yet but it looks really good and i love si-fi, so will give it a go sometime soon.

    Wow for it's fluid gameplay.

    1. Star Trek Online - While not the greatest game out there. The new Legacy of Romulus expansion has been quite enjoyable and the adjustments made to the Away Team missions has been pleasantly surprising.

    2. FFXIV: A Realm Reborn (Beta) - Since FFXI was my first MMO I am deeply enjoying this game. While the controls and learning curve are very much as easy to learn as WoW it also allows me to do things at my own pace instead of requiring the six person party for everything that FFXI did.

    3. Guild Wars 2 - Up to playing FFXIV I enjoyed not having to pay a subscription fee, and with GW2 I liked being able to do things whenever I wanted to and not feel obligated to play because of the subscription fee. Tyria is a wonderful world and the interactive combat is well-done.

Some great lists there, thanks guys.

    I would say

    1. WoW - My first MMO (First Love)

    2. Rift - Reminds me of WoW and I love its style.

    3. Eve Online - So complex and well thought out.

    4. Swtor - I am a Stars Fan

    5. STO - same as above

The problem I have is I am addicted to wow thats why it was nice to see what others love or like
