    Quick help on Ethernet driver(s)

    Hello

So I am needing to reformat my computer soon, lost my drivers disk and, not sure if it matters, but the drivers my Mobo manufactorers website gives to me is dated back in 2010. Am wanting to get more recent Updated drivers for it (P8P67-M)

Got my CPU drivers and Audio driver down, but the Ethernet I am kinda confused on, Found this page for Realtek Ethernet drivers http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

Going down to the Windows 7 version I see Two download options which are of the same day / most recent update, first one is

    Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Driver

    Second is

    Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program (SID:1581786)

Now I am wondering if the Auto install is what I need to get, and do I have to get the R2 Driver afterwords or is that not needed?

The "Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Driver" is a ZIP file, extract it temporarily somewhere, e.g. into a folder on your desktop.

If Windows 7 doesn't automatically install the drivers for you, you can go into Device Manager, go to the Ethernet Controller and update the driver. Browse into the folder you extracted and pick 32 or 64 subfolder depending upon which version of Windows you are installing (32-bit or 64-bit).

That's about all there is to it.

Those are drivers for PCI-E addon-NICs, not the built in Realtek 8111E chip on your motherboard.

Use the version dated 29.12.2010 on the Asus website.

The onboard NIC is tied to the PCI-Express bus. Although it's onboard, it's a PCI-E device and those drivers should work just fine.
I've installed them on a mobo of mine in the past with the same IC. You could get the ASUS ones too, just in case these ones from Realtek don't work. Up to you really
