    LFR drops no spirit gear

    Hi everyone,

I've got 3 drops in ToT LFR but none of them has spirit on it, despite me being queued as healer and despite me having set the loot mode to Holy.

I tried searching but did not find anything about this, is this a bug or it's just plain bad luck?

    Thanks for the answer!

Caster gear without +Hit on it is considered as DPS or Healer gear. RNG is RNG. Welcome to the pain train.

Not sure where you searched, but it wasn't very hard.
You might have gotten gear with no spirit because anything without hit is useful for priests as well and if you get gear with hit on you have your loot specialization set to shadow.

Gear without spirit is kinda useless right now though, especially @ LFR gear levels you would want spirit to the max. Now with for example rogues having 3 loot specializations, priests having holy and disc seperate etc it's about time tbh that they don't put non-spirit items on the holy priest loot specialisation. Same as having 2.60 weapons when I choose assasination. This is the only thing still really lacking about the LFR loot-system.

Same bull with our tier, by not giving the healing chest spirit, we are essentially stuck in using an offset-robe + the 4 other pieces, no choice what so ever because of that (now ok, that setbonus isn't amazing but still).

I sympathize. Blizzard does not think I should be holy. They think I should be shadow. Silly Blizzard. If I wore the gear they gave me instead of what I got with vp, crafting and constant coining of last tier's crap then I would be as terrible as most healers in lfr.

Gear with no spirit is perfectly fine, just reforge to spirit.

When you're starting out, struggling for Spirit, the extra Int really doesn't make up for the loss of Spirit you'll have if you take a piece without Spirit on it. Reforging does not fix this. You will still almost always lose more Spirit than you can reforge into. I sympathize with the OP.

So on priest #3 (Shadow/Disc) I was in ToES LFR waiting for bosses that dropped stuff I want and we were on Tsu-Long.
"What the heck, I might have the urge to heal on a third priest, and Spirits of the Sun would be helpful for that!". So I flipped my loot specialization to holy for a chance at a sweet trinket.
To date from LFR ToES I had gotten 3 (!) belts with spirit.
After swapping specs I got...a non spirit belt. GG Blizz.

I know the disc priests out there will disagree with me but I really think if you set loot spec to HOLY (not disc or shadow) you should ONLY get spirit cloth. I don't know of a single serious H priest who uses a non spirit piece in any slot but trinket unless waiting for something better to come along.

When I was gearing my priest, this was my biggest annoyance. It was so bad at one point that I had to flask spirit for LFR because I only had ~5000 ish even reforged/gem'd for spirit. At the time I was trying to play Holy and it was just not happening for me. I didn't like the "but anything without hit is useful" mantra.

I'd be okay with this. I imagine at the higher levels of gear for Holy (I main Disc) that a piece or two wouldn't be a problem. However at that point, most of your gear is from boss drops and not the LFR magical faeries (though coin rolls rely on loot spec). I just remember the pain of having no spirit cloth, and no sympathy for that. People would say "But at least you got gear" and I'd think "Oh yah, so useful..."

Just reforge/ gem spirit and bam the no spirit piece has close to what it would have had in spirit + another useful stat. Its a Win win IMO. I run with 10.5-11K spirit and never go below 50% mana ever. Horridon trinket FTW.

Except that doing this at lower levels of gear means that you're missing out at extremely important stats. When you're gearing up in that awkward 470-500 zone, Holy barely has enough spirit to heal itself out of a paper bag. Losing out on stats like Haste or Mastery just to have enough spirit? Not effective, and more unbalanced than it should be. Disc can get away with this, but Holy cannot. I can see reforging out of crit as Holy, but to reforge out of Haste or Mastery is just awful.

Obviously most people say "go disc until hlg + enough spirit gear" but there are a fair number of players that just want to play holy. It's truly unfair, and I don't like to use "unfair" often.

I just hit 500 Ilvl last week, but the again my priest has never been lame Holy, so maybe this is why I haven't had any issues.

It starts looking a lot less lame the more damage that goes out.

I just cant bring my self to do it, I mean how boring is a healing class that has a spell called "Heal". I made my priest back in wrath to be Disc, and that is the spec he will always be.

Gear without spirit.... What a blessing..

Most casters are already struggling to keep hit/spirit low, to avoid going over cap..

My druid have over 6000 spirit and some hit on top of that... Impossible to reforge enough away..
    Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK

You realize disc also has a spell called "heal" right?

Yes, I have non-Spirit boots on, but only because they were so much better than the boots I had I didn't feel I had a choice. I'm waiting on the boots off Council (NON-EXISTANT) or Ra-den (NEVER DROPS CLOTH).

It always amuses me when people call Holy "lame."
