blizzard is awesome, they just do what people want to buy...the customer = king

if the majority loves hardcore raids like sunwell, they would do this. but people prefer pets, mounts and stuff ....accept it =)

Not only are you insane to think they would but they would be insane to even contemplate it. Blizzard are smart enough to know that the game would then be a P2W game and drive people off in the millions.

I guess they either don't have the disposable income or don't want to pay for a game then have items that can only be obtained by paying more, cosmetic or not.

Personally I don't care and doubt I will buy any of it, CM armor was nice, a fun challenge and suitable reward imo. I was a little annoyed that the bat mount was a store mount, kinda sucks having such a highly requested mount obtained by no means of skill.

I think it's a fairly smart business model to do, there will always be people who want to buy them, I dislike just how much money you would need to spend to get all their store mounts and pets but I have bought 2 pets in the past. Gear is slightly worrying, I personally won't be buying transmog items as I rather mix/match my gear to look somewhat unique than buy a full set, and these store items are going to be everywhere. As long as they keep it to cosmetic items I really don't have thatmuch problem with it, but if they do it with real gear I'm done with the game. I don't respect mmos that do that.

Also, why do you think they added these specific items? Think they just randomly selected items?
Art is subjective.... to a degree.
A level 6 Leather head band is generally not regarded as cool as the Ragnaros crown for example.

I think it has more to to to the fact that we most likely only see very unique transmog in the shops and the gear ingame will be more rehased and bland.

Its already happening with mounts look at the new glory of the raider (Protodrake with some armor) and the achievement mount (dragonhawk again)
yet a Bat mount was added to the shop (people have been asking for ages for a bat mount to be available in game now they finally make one and its only available in the shop) the fey dragons that is not added yet but I will not be surprised if it end up in the shop as well.

I think that is what people are bothered about. Because it will happen with the transmog gear as well. Just wait for it those nifty hooded capes people have been asking about? You can just wait for it to be added in the shop with no way it will be available in game , Scythe, Glaives (weapons lot of people are stoked about and want more alternatives for in game) prime targets for this new transmogrify shop.

It is amazing to me that some people still don't realize that the only reason this game exists is for a business to make money. I see people stating that Blizz is money hungry, greedy, blah blah blah.....Well, yea. Obviously. It is a business whose main goal is to make money. Pet store items have no affect on how strong your character is so what is the beef here? That they use the art team to create a couple of gear models In between tiers? That is just smart business.

A LOT of people will splurge for these items and Blizz will turn a very nice profit. That is just adapting and increasing profit.

Honestly.. The 3 transmog helms are shiny sparkly items which - from my observation - most rather serious raiders, and many other players frown upon.
Remember the Sparkle Pony? It was polarizing the community. Many players bought it. But at least as many players bashed it, and not because one could buy it, but how it looked.
From there..... I do not believe that such shiny tier style obtainable through raids would receive a very high approval rate.

It won't really affect me anyway, but I can understand why people are upset. Typically companies don't start doing this sort of thing until they're laying off the subscription, but they're just milking their customers as much as possible. It's like that half off sale for transfers, and then only afterward revealing they actually had plans to fix things soon. And there's the case to be made here that, if they're still capable of making awesome looking sets, why don't they put them in the game as rewards?

Before they would add an item like those helms as Loot Cards for the TCG. People would buy packs just to try and get said items. Some people would find those cards and use them other would sell them for a fair bit of money. So why wouldn't Blizzard cut out the 3rd party making money off of their products?

This isn't effecting the game. It's cosmetic as in NO stats so it's like Challenge mode gear. This is not a bad thing, you don't have to pay for it and it's not effecting the gameplay. Move along folks nothing to see here.

I think they should've implemented this a while ago. There's nothing 'bad' or 'money hungry' about a business offering optional services to their customers at an additional cost. It's a pretty clean and intelligent business practice.

What I do agree with you on though is that T16 is arguably the worst raid set (maybe 2nd to T9) and at the same time they release buyable transmog gear on the Blizzard store. It could just be a coincidence, but I hope it's not the start of an awful pattern of making all of the in-game rewards pale in comparison to what you can buy. (Even though it would benefit me a lot since I have more money than time to spend - just wouldn't think it would be good for the playerbase overall.)

I don't really mind this, since it doesn't affect actual gameplay, but i'd rather see them go f2p then.
Also in my opinion the latest tiers of raiding gear & pvp sets look like total shit, ofcourse you can transmog, but that doesn't have to be a reason to make more shitty gear sets then what we are used to right?
But yeah i can totally see it happening at blizz HQ, guys lets make bad looking gear sets and make total awesome sets made avaible for extra cash in the shop, we got enough loyal fanboys shoveling money to us anyway!!

and much much more! All for a small price on the Blizzard store :3


Sadly, people like me will buy said things. Not all ofc, but anything that looks neat in our eyes. Again would prefer anything in the store be available in-game for either a lot of gold or something else.
