    Question [MW] Priority Status :: Mastery x Haste x Critical - Patch 5.4

    With the tier 16 bonus, do you think mastery will became strong? Any MW tested on Ptr? What do you think about it?

    Not as much as you'd think, haste will still spawn orbs faster and crit will still make them crit more often so the 2pc scale with both of those already. Regardless, mastery will never be on top because you're completely at the mercy of mechanics and the environment which gives far too much unreliability for something to put stats into. Haste vs. crit will entirely depend on the strength of RPPM effects next tier and how sustainable mana will be with close to 100% haste.

    If you're really interested I have a basic formulation of mistweavers included in my spreadsheet, you can tinker with adding and subtracting stats with and without next tier's 2pc and 4pc. You can also include different talent setups etc and varying amounts of overheal I collected an aggregate of a while ago.

    Mastery will never be our best stat until its redone. This is because the healing from our mastery scales better with haste and crit then it does with itself. Our mastery isn't terrible in itself. It does a good amount of healing. It's bad cause you can't control it and it scales better with other stats.

    Not really, the main problem is it's variance through fights and as you said it's completely uncontrollable which is extremely undesirable given the already unreliable set of heals outside of mastery.
