If you got subscription with the PC keep it. If it's some 30 day demo only you should look into getting some free alternatives.
It's not bad, but the subscription based AV products just don't offer enough compared to free alternatives to justify the cost in most cases.

Norton.. Just delete it, snap the disk.. whatever.
It is just a massive pain in the ass, so many security checks (to the point it's not even funny), updates constantly and yeah.. just don't.
I had it once, against many friend recommendations, I could NEVER fully remove it when I decided it wasn't for me, files would remain and now and again random shit would pop up to do with it..
Ever since I have stayed miles away from Norton, and I would recommend anyone to do so.
Maybe they're different now but meh.. Once bitten and all that..
This was the chain of events that happened to me…
“Cool, free trial of Norton. I’ll use this for now and figure something out later”
“Aww, trial expired. Yeah, I can get Spybot: Search and Destroy, Malwarebytes, or MSE for free, I’ll just uninstall Norton”
“Sweet, Norton uninst… wait, what the hell is that popup? Norton subscription expired?!?! Hmm, let’s find who’s causing that little annoyance”
“Ahhaa! Found it!! Now just to restart computer aaannnnddd….”
“Really? Still there?!?!? Uggh, well, I’ll just ignore it for now and make it to raid on time”
“(3…2…1…pull) Arrggh!!! WoW minimized cause of this stupid fucking popup!!”
…
…
…
(6 months later) “Glad I finally got my new computer! No fucking NORTON on this BIAATCH!!!”
My experience (used it) and every test or review of it that I've read: it take up more resoruces than other options, it find less threats, is expensive and generally a good novice tool.
Anyone who really want to be safe should stay away from it.
It never ever score high on tests compared with other options however they 'might' need more config and knowledge.

But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.
I really don't understand wtf people have been doing with Norton. I used it for two years (2010-2011) because I found ridiculously cheap retail box from some going out of business sale. It never used more than 3-4% of CPU even at worst, usually showing 0% in task manager and uninstalling happend cleanly from the windows uninstall programs list. Never false positives or showstopper bugs that would cause windows or WoW to not work.

Well please help me tell me the best free option i have!!!!
Check out AVG, Avast, or Microsoft Security Essentials. All free. All good. All better than anything ever made by Norton.
Norton used to be bad but now it's pretty good:
Norton Internet Security test
Norton Internet Security comparison
Always try before paying so you can pick something else in case you don't like it.
Don't spread these kind of false rumors/statements.
The more you know...

Norton for the most part, works decently if everything is already clean and in order. It just has a high potential of turning into a crapstorm. I cannot count on both hands and feet, five times over, the number of times a customer has brought in a system that is just utterly unusable, and the culprit is Norton.
