Maybe the Federal Gov would allow this if they were ever in the need for drone target practice.

Yeah this sounds really safe. Not...

Ok honestly I don't know what I'm talking about, but it just sounds reckless and stupid to me.

I'm not sure the average Joe could reasonably afford something that could really damage a drone. Probably worth less than the reward to actually bring one down.

Do they also intend to shoot down police and military helicopters? Theres not much difference between them and drones.

They don't actually intend to shoot down anything. If they did, they'd let you use something more significant than a 12-gauge shotgun.

As an aside, does the spelling of "gauge" bother anyone else? It's a bizarre place to put a U in a word that's pronounced the way it is.

I really thought for a second we were seeing some rotary drones hunting deer... and I expected the awesome to flow freely. Then I realized it was a protest law and nobody is going to shoot a predator drone down with a shotgun or sniper rifle...

12 gauge is the bore diameter, so if you build a giant shotgun, it's not a 12 gauge anymore.

That's English for ya. Doesn't make much sense.

That's really no cause to add a letter. Lots of words use the exact same spelling while meaning different things. Also, words can't literally do anything. :P

It would simplify learning English for people if our orthography were a little more phonetic. It's easy to read anything with the proper pronunciation in Spanish. Impossible in English unless you already know the language.

The law would require someone speak English, what if some Amish guy (who didn't speak English) wanted to hunt a drone? I know the law is in order to express disdain at hispanic immigrants, but there's unintended consequences if they accidentally keep any white Christians from using their guns to destroy the property of the government.

How long did it take you to translate that? Honestly, a language can be made closer to phonetic without going to that extreme, but even if we did go to that extreme, people would just learn to read it the same way we do the current alphabet.

The mighty state of Colorado just made skeet shooting alot more interesting imo
But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

I don't see y we wod have to go to such extremes. We don't have to rite the specific fonetiks, but just simplify the way we spell things. That way, wen we have to use words like "gauge" they don't contane unnesesary letters in them that caws confusion. Also, this wod help enshure our language remanes consistent and eesy to lern. The English language is too complex and inconsistent for its own good.

See? It's not that much of a change.

Try French. Half the letters aren't spoken.

God that annoys me to no end.

Ils n'utilizent pas plus des lettres dans leurs mots! They don't use most the letters in their words! My grammar probably sucks.

Easier to read than write. I was just imagining trying to find all the characters without a keyboard that automatically supports them. Plus, of course, knowing which phonetic letters to use for which sounds.

And I would have said "wood."

MQ-1 Predator has max load of 1020kg/2,250lb and empty weight of 500kg. So materials and stucture must be made of something light like aluminium. Basic FMJ rifle ammo can take it down if it penetrates, if not, just make steelcore bullets and those will do it.
One bullet tearing through aircraft filled with electronics, fuel systems and an engine, will do a lot of damage.

That is if you even hit the damn thing, probably it is flying very high to avoid stuff like bullets.

TBH, I wasn't exactly sure how to reduce "would" into its phonetic sound. It's a weird word.
