exactly I am not defending either party's in this fight but I am glad that the priest remained calm while they attacked him. and not acted like them.

Feminism is a movement against sexism for both sexes. Like any other group, the ones who actually care about making a difference are out there doing what they know needs to be done. Then you get a group of loud people trying to "represent" that movement and, because more people will take notice of bad deeds rather than good ones, tarnish what the movement actually stands for.

It's like religious extremists who carry around signs about how you're going to hell if you don't conform to a certain way of life, like priests who touch kids, ect. Christianity isn't about the few nutjobs around who ruin the experience for everyone else. These sort of people are hurting, not helping.

I guess I could point out that saying Femen represents all women who advocate for equal rights (since "Feminism" is now a bad word) is like saying the WBC represents all Christians. But it's easier just to leave you to your anti-feminism circle-jerk. Carry on.

I wouldn't consider them feminists, rather anti-male. People who cannot see the difference are often those who support their actions. They may identify themselves as feminists but calling yourself anti-male would likely make them look like hypocrites for those daft enough to consider supporting their actions.

If they weren't attacking Catholic Priests (who I feel are pretty corrupt, but I wouldn't attack them) it would be some other male that is part of some other body. They are just as sexist as those they claim to fight against, if not more violent.

The best way to combat those extremists is to not let them tar the image you have of the other feminist groups that don't fight anything with a penis using violence and hate, but rather seek fair treatment for their gender. I consider them acting like this in order to force hate to be the driving force on both sides as a whole, as that often gets the most immediate results, just not the best ones.

Extremists make anything look bad. WBC makes Christianity look bad. Al-Qaeda makes Islam looks bad. Bad politicians can make an entire state look bad. Hardcore fans can make a game/series look bad. For example, I like LoL, but god does the playerbase make me hate it sometimes. But that isn't the game's fault.

They need to be disregarded and not allowed to mar people's perception on what these movements/organizations actually stand for. Ignore them and move on.

Circlejerk my ass. WBC is only a very small portion of Christianity.

People who truly care about women and not only, do not call themselves feminists. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erin_Pizzey Call them something else, like humanists. People who care about equality, care about everyone's POV, not just the POV one gender.

Feminism is about control not equality, and it always will be as long as people focus only on one group out of at least two. When you say that not all feminists are man-haters, it's like saying that not all nazis are racists. I think that my analogy is better than your "Christianity" one.

No, it's the perfect example of people who should not be lumped in a generalization with other people and should not be assumed to be the voice of modern feminism. I mean, wtf really... it's like assuming men who are women-haters (often the other side who's bitching back at these women and are no better) are now the voice of modern masculinity.
