Well remember that it's written by several different people.

Imagine if you and your 15 best friends got together and put together a compilation of your experiences with....some guy, and then added it to another compilation book from 15 other guys from THEIR experiences in the past.

There's going to be issues and stuff lost in translation.

Textbooks have multiple authors too. We expect them to be internally consistent.

No. This isn't a new way to spin the position. Wait for some aid to clarify that its still 'evil' to be in a homosexual relationship. They'll say something like it's a test that 'God' is putting on gay people, demanding that they be celibate.
