    760 GTX FPS Question (Again)

    I have dug a little deeper and people are saying there is NO way that I should get 20 fps in raids in WoW. and have come to the conclusion that its my setup, PSU specifically, I am running an FX 6300, GTX 760 MSI Twin Frozr 8 Gigs Ram, 1 HDD, 1 Optical on a 500 watt PSU, thoughts or comments, could it be slowing me down? Is it possible im hitting the limit?

    500 watt psu seems a bit low...then again im running a 1200 watt psu and no problems with the 760 gtx

    The graphics card is more than enough. The problem is your CPU's performance in World of Warcraft.

    500w is more than enough to run that set up and more as long as it isnt a garbage oem brand.

    The fx-6300 is your problem, that isn't even mildly surprising for that cpu, especially if it is at stock. (Actually if anything i'm more surprised you are getting 20fps if it is at stock).
    Personal rig:
    • i5-3570k (4.2ghz) || CM hyper 212 evo || Asrock extreme 4 || Corsair (2 x 4gb 1600mhz) ram
    • Samsung 840 (120gb) || WD blue 1tb || WD green 1tb
    • Powercolor 7870xt || Silverstone strider 500w ||NZXT source 210

    if the 6300 is at stock i can see some problems with fps, but overclock that sucker to 4.5+ and you should boost a bit.

    Do I need a non stock cooler to OC it to those levels

    i would recommend an aftermarket cooling solution for it. the cooler master hyper evo 212+ is a great cheap option, around $30 and it cools very well for its price range.

    Sure do and its partially silicon lottery, some will be able to achieve that kind of a clock with a hyper 212 evo due to a good chip others will need a more potent solution. If you got a 212 evo (they are like $30) you will at least be able to get a reasonable performance increase without breaking the bank.

    if you want to get a higher end cooler without having to do a custom watercooling loop, the corsair H80 or higher is a good option, though more expensive.

    I will second that, its really up to you how much you wish to spend (the beauty of the h80 unlike most closed loop coolers is it is compatible with just about any case).
