    Psu question

    I thought I had a 600w PSU but it turns out I was misremembering and what I have is a Corsair gs 500w PSU. My concern is that this PSU hasn't been certified for the new haswell processors, that I can find and I just bough the i5 4670k. I know next to nothing about hardware. Is this a concern? Would it be better to spend another 80-100 on a PSU that has been certified?

    New Haswell power features are for extreme powersaving modes that are usually disabled from motherboard UEFI because not all PSUs support those. If you never use sleep/hibernate features on the computer those new power features will never be used.

    The power supply you mention "should" have compatibility, but has not been tested.
    Despite claims the information will be updated, it seems that much of it for legacy products is still "To Be Determined" several months later.
