whats the difference?

between whiteheads,blackheads,pimples and acne? is there any visual difference? or are they just terms for what amounts to the same thing? i ask because im looking for a facial scrub product and not sure which would be appropriate. dont have the money to ask a doctor for such a trivial question.

Of the top of my head (which means that I could be wrong). Whiteheads are under the skin, blackheads are open clogged pores.

Eww.. lol Hmm.. well I know blackheads have turned dark because it's exposed to air and oxidized. Whiteheads I would assume are not exposed? I generally tend to think of a pimple as being a small isolated infection in the skin, while a black/whitehead is simply clogged and not necessarily infection. At least that's my understanding of it.

Why do you think I'm angry? You could get an actual answer, faster, from people/places that specialize in dermatology. I'm asking for what your motivation is for making this thread instead of doing a google search. Why can't you answer a simple question? Is it tied to your inability to use google?

Avoiding the question? I was curious why you would ask a random question on a random forum instead of just typing the exact question into google. Then I put it into 'let me google that for you' so that you could get a good answer, instead of the random, uneducated mutterings you would get from the majority of posters on the forum. Then you complain about how I'm hostile because I had the audacity to ask you a question, as if you are the pope and I'm just a lay priest.

So, lets go back to my first question, which is 'why would you ask this question instead of googling it?'

A Google search gives me:

If blocked pores become infected or inflamed, a pimple -- a raised red spot with a white center -- forms. If the pore clogs, closes, and then bulges, you have a whitehead. A blackhead occurs when the pore clogs, stays open, and the top has a blackish appearance due to oxidation or exposure to air. (This has nothing to do with skin being "dirty"). When bacteria grow in the blocked pore, a pustule may appear, meaning the pimple becomes red and inflamed. Cysts form when the blockage and inflammation deep inside pores produce large, painful lumps beneath the skin's surface.

The least severe type of acne is the whitehead or blackhead. This type is also the most easily treated, usually with over-the-counter products. With more extensive acne, prescribed medications are often needed to reduce the inflammation, bacterial infection, redness, and pus.

i dont trust googles search engine. i've had more than one link give me a nasty viruses,trojans in the past. and they were the ones at the front page too. and no they werent from any sites with spurious names....i simply dont trust their vetting process for bad sites. many bad sites end up as sponsered links or high up on the list of search results.

plus i figured gamers would have some experience with hygiene products/hygiene since a good chunk of them are in their teens.

I dont know really me being born and growing up with no blemish I have never experienced acne But I do know that white heads and black are different colors

okay thanks for the info people. it looks like i have a mix of pustules/whiteheads.
