    [MW] 5.4 BiS Discussion

This is currently the BiS Tier 16 gear for Mistweaver Monks in 5.4

Head: Helm of Seven Sacred Seals
    Neck: Necklace of Fading Light
    Shoulder: Hopeglow Spaulders
    Cloak: Jina-Kang, Kindness of Chi-Ji
Chest: Vest of Seven Sacred Seals
    Wrist: Bracers of Purified Spirit
Gloves: Handwraps of Seven Sacred Seals
    Waist: Dragonmaw Emergency Strap
Legs: Legwraps of Seven Sacred Seals
    Boots: Boots of Broken Reliance
Finger #1: Seal of Sullen Fury
Finger #2: Signet of the Dinomancers
Trinket #1: Prismatic Prison of Pride
Trinket #2: Purified Bindings of Immerseus (Yes that's a DPS trinket, good luck getting that over casters, you can't get it on a bonus roll GG)
Main/Off Hand: Arcweaver Spell Sword / Juggernaut's Power Core
Two Hand: Lever of the Megantholithic Apparatus

These trinkets are BiS for Stacked AoE healing fights.

    Trinket #1: Thok's Acid-Grooved Tooth
    Trinket #2: Nazgrim's Burnished Insignia

For Fistweaving Lever of the Megantholithic Apparatus is BiS

If something changes on this list, PM me as I'm currently too busy to keep this up to date and to keep up to date with this thread

You could also add in the staff alternative from Blackfuse (easier to get, slightly better for fw and whatnot). I'd include signet of the dinomancers as a possible replacement for the Laser-Slice signet at least for 25m. There are only two necks that do not have hit on them, the best is spi/haste and drops from the Sha of Pride. The other is spi mastery which obviously won't be an upgrade from closing your eyes and pretending real hard you have a necklace equipped.

Thanks for the input, forgot to mention fistweaving!

I've been having a few issues with wowdb picking up loot, had to manually search for that neck from the NPC because it didn't appear under the 'Drops in Siege of Orgrimmar' filter

Agreed except for trinkets + shoulders. I think:

    Hopeglow Spaulders
    Thok's Acid-Grooved Tooth
    Dysmorphic Samophlange of Discontinuity

The reason being I think the amplification trinket isn't going to be worth taking. Even at 9% (HC WF 2/2 upgrade) I don't think it's a huge increase. Maybe I'm wrong though, in truth I don't care about my BiS because I'm never going to get it anyway. XD

The amplification does outway the passive intellect as the value of Crit in 5.4 is double that of Intellect

Stat priority in 5.4, I'd been hoping for a chance to use this!

    What about these ?

I can't link items cause i don't have enough messages to post a link. Sadness :-(

    What about :
    -boots-of-perilous-infusion
    -signet-of-the-dinomancers

We don't care about spirit, and i guess it's better to have a bit more mastery than spirit.

Gem colours for Hopeglow are a lot better, free 120 int I guess and not too much of a crit sacrifice. Will probably depend if the native haste pushes us to another breakpoint or not.

Those boots have a blue socket, as well as no native crit at all.

120 int + 669 haste on Hopeglow vs. 33 spi (lol) + 599 crit. Considering 120 int is approx worth 240 crit (or just under), it's 360 crit vs 670 haste. Hopeglows will be better as long as it doesn't take you over a breakpoint.

Seems like they will be BiS actually as we can just reforge excess haste anyway

I am presuming that Dysmorphic Samophlange of Discontinuity is to replace Horridons Trinket. I would agree that 9% doesn't seem that much, I suppose this may change as our crit levels increase following the stat increases on new gear.

Please can anyone tell me if it is better to use the amplify/int proc ones over this? Also, how much spirit is needed to compensate for the loss of HLG or not taking this trinket.

    Thanks
    Denk

Edit: I've just totalled up the spirit on the bis list to 12K (non upgraded), with that amount of spirit I don't think the trinket will be needed, but I am no theorycrafter so I may be wrong.

You forgot to mention that the Staff is the real BiS because it looks badass.

9% crit is better because at our gear level in 5.4 we have an insane amount of mana tea procs, the trinket is garbage

It's 9% crit healing. Nothing about adding +crit strike %.

I think the offhand looks badass personally, the sword and staff are abit meh

    Mainhand/Offhand v Staff stat comparison

    MH/OH

    3369.9 DPS
    2733 int
    1913 crit
    1364 haste
    14225 spellpower

These are the stats assuming Potent Vermilion Onyx is in the main hand and offhand and the Enchant Off-Hand - Major Intellect enchant

    STAFF

    4535.6 DPS
    2543 int
    1918 crit
    1358 haste
    14,223 spellpower

This is the stats with Potent Vermilion Onyx in the staff

MH/OH stats compared to the staff

    -1165.7 DPS
    +110 Int
    -5 Crit
    +6 Haste
    +2 Spellpower

For min/maxers MH/OH is better for mistweaving and the staff is better for fistweaving

So is 4pc t16 better in the end since it won't be scaled down on live?

I remember you guys discussing using both 2pcs from t15 and 16. Is this just because of the raw stats we gain from t16 gear make it more appealing?

I edited that post before reading your post because I realised my mistake, my point still stands with the trinket, you won't need the spirit regen at our gear levels with our insane amounts of crit, even if the trinket is only +crit healing, we'll proberbly be at around 8k spirit after reforging out of it all

I'm not sure myself on how that trinket works though, I thought it amplifies your stats and not just +crit healing but I may be wrong.

T16 4pc will be great when you get it, way more effective healing. Hell 2pc T16 is better too.

Honestly I am not sure. Testing with the same item level and either 6141 or 9158 haste shows that the 2pc t15 does more healing than the 4pc t16. Will 40 item levels make up the difference? It's entirely possible, but I'm not sure. Will have to wait and see.

Also yeah, the spirit trinket gives more regen than HLG so we can drop even more spirit (although this is going to be hard given how there's spirit on every single piece of loot).

Idk how you can really say that, in terms of just raw healing the Mist Wave already knocks even with ReM bonus but it's delivered much more intelligently. Maybe it's RNG with your testing or something. That being said the 1k intellect and secondary stats you lose not going to the new tier easily knock the ReM bonus out of the park. (If the smart healing didn't already)

  19. #19
Fight dependent maybe? During Thok ReM bonus completely wiped Mist Wave out of the park. On Garrosh it did the same thing. I think Immerseus would see good use of the 4pc and maybe Spoils (seeing as Mist Wave can heal the other side if it chooses). I'll do some more tests but I urge everyone to do the same, 2pc t15 + 2pc t16 for me comes out ahead (I'm using HLG + cleave trinket on PTR, gemming to 6141/9158 [depending on ilvl] and gemming full intellect otherwise).

Cleave could be the problem if mist wave doesn't trigger it.
