It's the Chinese build-up and agressive actions that are sighted as the cause for the Japanese build up, not te other way around.

Japan is trolling China hard. That part about the general and the 731 airplane. That is sadistic.

Because China is miles behind the rest of inhe world in military technology, and the things they have done to Japan in the past will give Japan a short fuse if something happens.

It also means Japan can easily intervene in a future North and South Korea conflict.

The Chinese government is arrogant and they act like a bully in this case. There's no logic behind their thoughts or actions.

there are millennia of antagonism and competition between the 2. sure, everybody can pretend the past is the past, but some shit doesnt really die, mainly because the parties dont really have any interest in letting it die. they've just taken a break in killing each other for a while

China is closing the tech gap quickly, the main failing has been in jet engine production. Everything else they have been able to steal or buy.

Hmmm. I imagine if Germany made a new class of fighter jets, named them the Göring-class attack fighter, and painted swastikas on the side, it'd make a splash in the newspapers in France too. Yes, I know Japan hasn't ever really stopped using the rising sun flag, but it China it has similar connotations to the Nazi Swastika.

The degree of bias in the article is pretty crazy though.

The Chinese-Japanese tensions are old as fuck. But I don't see either side engaging each other because the USA doesn't want to do anything to China and vice-versa.

"I'm offended by the Danish flag, they've been using it in their wars against Sweden. I demand that they replace their flag and never uses it again!"

That wouldn't make it right for Swedish government to harass the Denmark, don't you agree?

Not a fair comparison, that flag isn't the Japanese flag.

The swastika is a symbol of good luck; however, can you not understand how a bunch of German planes with swastikas would be... hmm a negative throw back?

And they could call thier air force the Luftwaffe again. Oh wait, they already do. And do remember, Japan has been "The Land of the Rising Sun" for centuries, as it's name means "sun's origin". The Rising Sun has been thier Naval Ensign for some time, it's nothing really new (and the flag itself dates back to the Edo era, and as the national flag from the 1870s).

There's an air of arrogance from the Japanese side concerning their wrong doings over the years.

You can really almost pin that offense on anyone.

Did Denmark invade and brutally occupy Sweden, committing all sorts of warcrimes within the memory of people who are still alive in Sweden? There's a reason the German flag changed, and I can understand the sentiment of the Chinese against the Rising Sun flag.

Does that mean they have a right to tell Japan not to use it? No. But they have every right to find it offensive and aggressive.

It was the National flag during a time in a time when Japan was... "interesting" I'll say. As far as Luftwaffe I can't find any " new" mention of them, and I am sure they don't use a swastika below an eagle as their symbol.

Yes but from the countries from ww2 mostly apologized Japan was terribly slow in it and have taken them back over the years denying then saying "okay it happened" then back to denying to Chinese are being dramatic and the Japanese were the victims. I couldn't imagine Germany taking such an obtuse route as Japan did.

No, Japan has definitely done more to China than the other way around. Also Japan won't be able to easily intervene in the Koreas unless they successfully amend their constitution. They could maybe have a presence there like in the ME but it will still be escort / medical related under orders to only fire to kill if absolutely unavoidable (instead of the normal fire if fired upon and shoot to kill).

Arrogance? I don't know if thats the right word. I mean their official stance on things like comfort women and Nanjing is that it didn't happen.

The prime minister in the 731 plane is very very... odd to me. I mean did absolutely no one catch that one? It would seem impossible to be that daft.

They got their shovels so I think they are absolutely fine.

I mean lets be honest here, it would probably make a shorter video to explain what the shovel can't do.
