    Windows Update error

guys am wondering if anyone could help me. for the last month or 2 ive been having issues with one windows update. im running windows 8 pro x64 and when i do updates (all others go in perfect) there is one KB2821895 will not go in no matter what. i keep getting error code 80073712, and ive followed everything they suggest to fix it and nothing, and ive looked online and cant find anything clear to fix it. i think it was something to do with a stack service or summat.

does anyone know how to get this installed as it says it is an important update (if it was optional i wouldnt be to bothered) and its just starting to bug me i cant put it in

    Hi there,

Open Search by pointing your mouse to the upper right corner of the screen, then do the following:

    1. Click Settings and type troubleshooting in the text box.
    2. Click Troubleshooting from the list of results.
    3. Click Fix problems with Windows Update, click Next and follow the instructions.

    Hope this helps

thats the troubleshooter that opens when i click on the error. ive went through that and still the same. it downloads and installs to about 90% then fails. even ran it as an adminstrator and still the same...

Well, I believe your problem is kinda related with corrupt OS files, incorrect system settings and so on. What you have to do is simply check system files for corruption, restore your machine to an earlier date. Use a hotfix available and if doesn't work go with the other options. Follow the steps given below until your problem is completely resolved. The steps given below can be used for System File Checker and System Restore.

    Use System File Checker:

    1. Insert Windows installation disc.
    2. Click the Start button.
    3. Point to All Programs | Accessories.
    3. Select Run.
    4. Type the following:
    CMD
    5. Press ENTER.
    6. In the Command Prompt dialog type following command:
    SFC /SCANNOW
    7. After the process is successfully performed, type EXIT and press ENTER. Reboot your machine for the changes to take effects.

    Use System Restore:

    1. Click Start, point to All Programs | Accessories | System Tools.
    2. Select System Restore.
    3. A wizard opens.
    4. Click Next.
    5. Select a previous restore point.
    6. Confirm the action and follow the on-screen instructions.
