Weird "chugging" sound comming from my speakers while playing Wow

Whenever I'm playing Wow there is this quiet but definitely audible sort of pulsing or chugging sound comming from the speakers. It's only present when Wow is actually active on the screen - if I minimize or exit the game the sound stops.

The volume of the noise increases and decreases with the speaker/amp volume, but not the game or PC volume.

Could it be my PSU causing this? I did recently replace it and didn't notice this sound before then.

There is also a similar but quieter sound comming from inside the case, but that's ever-present and may just be the 'normal' workings of the PC.

    Here is the sound: http://picosong.com/y5Zh
(Btw, it's not actually as loud as this, the real volume is much lower. I just amped the volume to make it clearer)

If it surfaced with the install of a psu it's probably emi (electromagnetic interference) or coil-whine. More then likely unless you have cellphones inside your case it'll be coil-whine. You can google DIY fixes, but if you're within warranty get a new one.

Alot of psu's have varying degrees of coil whine, but some are more pronounced like yours appears to be.

It doesn't sound anything like either of those, and it's comming out the speakers. Did you listen to the link?

Is there any way to confirm this before I return it? I don't want to spend a month without a working PC only to be told there's nothing wrong with the PSU.

Go to a computer shop with a knowledgeable technician.
They will hopefully tell you for sure if EMI is your culprit before sending it away.

Threads like this make me happy that my computer shop will just replace your faulty item
and deal with the warranty for you if there are any issues during warranty.

Does the sound change in pitch when your FPS changes?
