Replied MURICA to officer & almost charged w/ disorderly conduct. The fuck?

    Ok,

    The Situation/Scenario

Driving back home from work and get pulled over for going 59 in a 55 - whatever. I was feeling great today because I received an excellent review from my boss and I had some pretty good music jamming. So I'm waiting and the police officer walks up to me and asks me for my license and registration and if I was aware of my speed, and I told him "No sir, MURICA!"

After that he told me to step out of the car, and I asked him what for, as I did nothing wrong. He said "For disrepecting a police officer" and told me to step out and wait with my hands visible on top of the car on the side of the highway where cars were not passing by. I'm freaking out at this point because I don't know what to do. After 20 minutes of humiliation and hoping noone would pass by and see me, the police offer came back to me and said that there is a zero tolerance policy for rudeness and insulting a police officer when getting pulled over. I told him that I meant no harm, but he mentioned that it doesn't matter, and that its up to the police offer to make (the call). I remember one thing is to never argue or talk back to an officer in a negative light because it will get you nowhere, so I just said "OK." like an idiot although I didn't see what the big deal was. He returned my license and registration and told me not to speed again and to watch myself. He let me go, off as a warning and to never disrespect an officer again.

    My Thoughts

Total bullshit, and it was rediculous. Not only did I feel ridiculed but I feel someone pissed in the officer's cheerios this morning and felt the need to piss off the next person, or everyone who they pulled over today. I felt it was a biased issue the officer had with me (I'm African American and he was Caucasian) so I feel that I was racially profiled. I want to report this officer for disorderly conduct. I am definitely shaken up after this encounter. I haven't encountered any racism personally but this experience left me not feeling great at all.

    My Plea

What do I do in this situation?

Internet behavior is not appropriate when you are stopped by the police. Don't be a fucking idiot next time.

It's kind of odd how you changed your poor attitude the moment you got pulled out of the car. Had you shown that much intelligence while inside of the car, this thread wouldn't exist. Hell, he let you off with a WARNING.

The only advice I have for you is to grow up and act like an adult.

You broke the law then acted like an asshole, you deserved to be punished. If you are polite to the police and say you are sorry they often let you off with a verbal warning, let this be a lesson to you.

Your story is total bullshit. That's all.

I agree with the police officer 100%.

You did something absurdly stupid. I'm surprised he didn't test you for alcohol, it was that stupid.

You deserved it, and you would have deserved it more if he had actually given you a ticket. The only sad part in my mind is the fact that he didn't.

Just no. Seriously. No. Stop playing the victim. The guy has a job to do and you did something stupid. No tolerance policing is one thing and I don't agree with that, but this is not an example of either profiling OR no tolerance policing, simply not tolerating idiocy which is a perfect word to describe what you did. Would've been profiling if he asked you if you had any drugs in the car or were running from a court date... but no, essentially giving you a non-contact smack round the head for being an idiot and as a result embarrassed you? He did nothing wrong. You did. Hence this whole issue.

Your "murrica doesn't even make sense, you didn't use it at a time that it could even be applied, he asked for licence and you said no?

Seriously, OP was a douche to the cop and ended up getting let off with a warning. Yeah, sounds like racial profiling to me.

You where speeding, you disrespected an officer of the law and he gave you a pass after making you sweat it out for a few mins.
You then come and complain about it on a public forum...

Lesson to be learned : Dont be an ass to the law.

Pretty much this. Be happy you only got a warning. And it was not racism...

Let's play the black card because you were an idiot!

they definitely abuse "disorderly conduct" charges, but they can't legally tell you that since they're recording the stop and in court it not only wouldn't hold up but the cop would be reprimanded

so based on that fact of life your story is bullshit

you probably got a ticket for speeding, did and said nothing, came home to live vicariously through your badass alter-ego

    Remove 'murica from your vocabulary.

Is there ever a time when that isn't used as an insult?

As an asshole american, I find the attempt by OP to co-opt our race to be quite intolerable.

Sadly it's enough to make a case nowadays probably. NAACP could probably spin it.

i dont think your skin tone comes into this, you were a dickweed.

as the fact you were speeding, you were immediately in the wrong, making a dumbass response such as Murica (Could argue that as a law enforcer, making a derogatory comment of the country he is a legal ambassador of is an insult, some could even say it borders treason) its an insult to his intellegence and wasting his time.
he made you stand on the roadside in the position? Be thankful he didnt search you, or call for an autosearch. he coulda dismantled your car roadside and left with it in pieces.
Im not saying Cops are ALWAYS right, too many cases they are wrong, but this point - you are the one in the wrong.
    now ya know.
    dont poke the pig.
