what the hell is up with companies releasing tons of things at the same time lately?

it used to be that the majority of the time if a company had games coming out they would space them out by atleast a month, but lately ive seen happen alot this year is that a company will release a bunch of stuff all at the same time.

for example nintendo, wind waker hd is coming out on october 4th theres also 2 different bundles one with an exclusive gannon figure and a wiiu bundle with zelda designs on it. on october 12th pokemon x and pokemon y come out.

nintendo.... how do you expect me to spend 360 dollars when im gonna have to spend 80 dollars a week later >_< you are forcing your customers to choose between buying the wiiu, or wind waker hd or buy the new pokemon games.

i understand it when it comes from different companies because they dont care about cutting into each others profits, but when its the same company it just makes me want to smack somebody and ask why the hell they are doing this. and its happened multiple times this year with different companies where they release lots of things in the same month.

anyone else notice this?

if you have known that they were all coming out, and that you wanted the special editions, why have you not saved for them ?

Okay jokes aside. The products just happened to be done at around the same time, and just siting on it, is a waste of money

but surely releasing two of the most popular franchises in the same month cuts into the profits of each one. its not like they are releasing mario tennis :P

Still does Not explain why as an obvious collector you have not made preparations (IE saved some money) ready towards what is obviously your hobby.
I know that GTA 5 is coming out and that I will probably need new hardware to play it properly, and that there is a new WOW expansion coming out which I will probably get the collectors edition of. I started to save money for these months ago so that I would have the money ready for when they are released.

It sounds to me like you have poor money management and have not bothered saving any towards things you want.

i dont have a steady job right now and i thought i was only gonna have to save up 140$ this month (40 for kh 1.5 hd, 80 for the 2 pokemon games, and 20 for regular show mordecai and rigby in 8 bit land)

i was planning on getting a wiiu later on in the year

How will it be cutting into the profits ? you realize that the games will sell on days well after the release date. Just because you do not have the spare funds to go out and buy them on release date and might have to buy them does not mean that they will not sell.

See, this is the problem companies have these days. Thinking if it doesn't sell the first month, it is a failure and will never make them money beyond that

Might cut profits, might expand with people searching for other games by the company, and look one came out three weeks ago.

yeah but first day sales are really important and by the time some people get enough to buy the game they couldnt a new game might be out they want more

Clicking on this thread, I knew it would be about Nintendo. They are FLOODING the market with new first party games until May. At least two major first party titles every month. It is both unheard of and awesome, and horrifically cruel to those of us who enjoy their games.

It isn't even as simple as "well you can just wait awhile and get the less important ones. Every nintendo published title is worth having.

I dont have steady work either, yet I still manage to run a home, Pay all my debits, bills and have almost half my target amount saved towards new hardware upgrades and GTA V + Expansion. its called money management.

well i always have enough to pay the bills i just dont always have enough for extra stuff, im used to game companies announcing things months in advance.

They're trying to get as much system sales in before the PS4/Xbox One starts this Christmas. It's rather simple, really... ((and don't give me any of that "2 different audiences" BS either. They're really not. :P))
