Thumbs up Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Can I get a show of hands who is also very impatiently awaiting this game's release? I really am personally looking forward to the new fluidity probably the most, actually, and how it will run so much better, not being based on flash.

If you aren't aware, here is a fat wiki on it!

I'm extremely hyped for it. The best part is it's not going to run like a turd on higher end PCs. Out of all my games on Steam, it is the ONLY game I have felt like getting 100% in, and I think it's still my most played game. Edmund McMillen is a fucking genius.

Yeah, while I have a paltry 131 hours invested in the game, in comparison to some peoples' 1000+ hours, I still realize that I could easily go 500+ hours and still have just as much fun.

    The randomness is just spectacular.

"Roguelikes" are a fantastic game model imo. Spelunky, Rogue Legacy, Isaac, FTL... Unlimited replayability with all those games even if you've beaten them a million times.

Watched the trailer to original game... crazy :P know people that spent hours and hours in the original. Personally, Im not all for those simple graphics... not on PC. Add it as a game on phone and we could talk, and it would probably be even more popular =) On pc, I dont even know how they can charge for it :P But insane game, I give them that

Er... you should be able to look past graphics. Graphics don't make a game, gameplay does.

Frankly, for what some of the monsters are in that game, I don't know if I would WANT to see them in higher detail. x_x

I think it fits better on phone market, where graphical expectations aren't as high =) Looks cheap to me, and everything about the game just seems insane :P Hard to grasp. If it was free, ok, but for money on PC today... games like that a no deal for me... maybe 10 years ago :P

I guess to each their own. It is an indie game and can often be had under $5. I would say at least give it a shot. :/ it hasn't gained a cult following for no reason.

Gee, could you try to sound more like the worst stereotype of the consumer masses?

I don't know how you'd even play isaac on a phone.

Isaac on a phone would be impossible without some major MAJOR revamping of how it works. =S

What should matter, for any reasonable consumer, is the aesthetic design of the game. You don't need 3d with zomg ambient occlusion and stuff in every game, since in some genres it's neither needed nor possible. Binding of Isaac's strongest point is it's aesthetic design, it's really original and well put together. At least for me, since I don't like the gameplay.

I know this is a old thread, but I haven't seen a Binding of Isaac in a long time and this is the first one I saw.

That being said, they just showed off the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth trailer and the release date finally.

Not really. touch screen d pads on both sides of the screen along with touch screens at the bottoms for space bar item/card/pill/bomb usage.

It would be pretty simple to convert it over.

It's also already running on the Vita which makes it dirt easy to port over to android/ios I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up there sooner rather then later.

Anyways, yea I'm looking forward to the game. Not going to drop no 500 hours in it or anything but I will play it casually like I did the original.

Well... that was interesting. Not sure what I learned about the game from it, other than that it looks to have greater variation in room design and obviously new items/enemies, but at least it gave nov. 4 as the release date, which is nice.

The store page describes it a lot better.

Dumbest trailer ever. I would like to see the gameplay, but it keeps being interrupted by creepy bullshit.

The trailer follows the same model as the trailer for the original game. It's a trailer, not a gameplay demo.

If you want to see gameplay Edmund posts plenty on the official website with an update every week.

I never preorder games, but i did it with this one. The original is so fuckin great, its so much fun, and the new one is 2player!

Look past the graphics, i got the game because it was 1.50$, didnt expect much, but wow, so many hours of fun.

BOI is one of my favorite all time games, so yeah...I am amped for the redux. The controls for the original are great, but I've always felt it would be much better rocking a gamepad and kicking back a bit. Can't wait to see what surprises are in store. Pre-ordering.
