    Proving Grounds... I love it!

Awesome, awesome feature. Bronze and Silver were easy. Tank Gold is pretty darn tough right now, consistently getting to the last two waves and then things get really tough with the constant damage and the aggro-dropping guy, it's pretty intense.

This has to be one of the best features they've added in a long time, and I really hope they expand on it to lower levels as well so people learn how to play their class from the start.

Looking forward to try it on all of my characters and all spec/roles been waiting for such a feature for so long, got really excited when I heard of it!

Love those sort of solo/challenging stuff. First Brawler's guild and now this , much better version

A bit tricky for low levels though for some specs.... Say mage level 10/20/30 or so... Chooses to be fire - Just spam fireball and fire blast sometimes to proc Pyroblast and shoot it, kinda boring... Maybe from a certain level instead like 50-60? When you get enough skills hopefully for most specs to have a minimal rotation.

I have to say PG's are the part of the patch I'm most looking forward to trying.

I'm looking forward to doing it on live. The tuning was all over the place when I tried it in beta (ranging from impossible to too easy).

It was definitely the thing in this patch I was most giddy about a few months ago, although I'd chilled a little bit

As always, very harsh comparing to ranged

Obviously, there shouldn't be any comparison of scores on Endless mode between classes, should be seperated by class.
Can't expect Warrior to be even close to a Mage's score for example :P

As a Paladin what sucks the most is the overall low damage output, most of the time I have some of the previous wave still up when the next wave comes, so it gets a bit crazy. The last wave on Gold has like two of these big dudes that put ground stuff with a cast and hulk up and do a fuckton of damage, plus the stupid fan-of-bananas spamming hozen the damage really skyrockets. However I like that because it forces cooldown planning and such

Titles. The Proven Healer, the Proven Defender and the Proven Assailant.

To expand on this, you have to do 30 rounds on Endless to get the titles.

Is there any reward to Proving Grounds? Like transmog gear or a mount/pet?

No, just the title for 30 waves of Endless as previously stated.

Finally cleared Tanking: Gold after about 10+ attempts. Those things HURT when you're scaled down to 463 (I'm assuming?) iLevel. Now to try out Endless and see how far I can get. I remember them stating that it roughly corresponded to Bronze = Heroics, Silver = LFR and Gold = Flex/Normal but the later waves of Gold whew... yeah, those were challenging. I had to blow everything I had and just barely scraped out a win.

I kinda wish Endless (and only Endless) didn't scale your gear, since it's just how long you can survive.

I got to tank gold wave 9 on my first shot and got demolished pretty quickly. It took me at least another 10 attempts before I beat it.

Not looking forward to running Endless, I'll tell you that

It would completely defeat the purpose of it if it didn't scale your gear! There's little value in something you can just outgear.

I'm looking forward to trying this a lot.

That would be a very very interesting way of leveling alts instead of grinding through quests/too easy dungeons/totally imbalanced pvp: achieving a gold or some other special rating to jump a bunch of levels at a time. If key spells were given at, say, level 10, 20, etc and you could do a really tough proving grounds challenge to demonstrate your mastery of them and jump to level 20, 30, etc. It would save people from the grind while making sure they knew how to play their class, probably a lot better than they would by just sleepwalking through ten levels of '10 zevra hooves'.

got to wave 39 on my hunter on my 2nd attempt at endless. havent seen anyone else with the title yet. im wondering if its not really much of an achievement. i thought it was kind of easy, but it might just be easier for hunters.

I don't want to sound too cynical, and can't see it myself yet, because EU still has maintenance, but:

Do you get any tangible reward out of this activity? Like at least some kind of gold or something? It's not like you can use titles/achievements in any way at all (only if as a mark for recruitment).

I hope it does, because otherwise it is just a complete waste of time.

As a DW Frost DK I had absolutely no issues getting through gold. Didn't try out endless yet but I'm sure I'll try it out sometime soon.

I did endless wave 30 the first try, but I can only say; this is NOT easy if you're a melee class. In fact, you're in for a rough time. (unless you're a frost DK)

The only reason I one-shot it is because frost mages are Godly for this. Gold is very easy though and no one should have any real issues with it unless you're someone that thinks LFR is hard.

A reward? Well no. Blizzard said though that they will likely implement Proving Grounds (or similar) as requirements for LFR and such instead of item level requirements. Proving Grounds in 5.4 is likely only a test thing for them to see in the future if they can use this as a gate instead of the item levels.

It really does require you to know your class to complete once you go beyond wave 20 in Endless, you can't just nuke as hard as you can unless you're a frost mage or frost DK with broken cleave damage. Silence, CC, multi-targeting and correct usage of dps CDs are required.

I got Frost mage to 30 on the 2nd try. That is not my main.

On my WW Monk which is my main (and I feel I'm much better at playing it) I can't get past 15. The DPS challenge is very unfriendly to melee. There is far too much running around to really optimize dps. I'll keep trying, but it's pretty brutally unbalanced for ranged vs. melee imo.

I feel like Ranged DPS and Melee DPS should have been two different challenges.
