Controller change ps2 to 3

[Grand Crusader Absalom]

After finally getting a ps3 with GTA v and splinter cell bundle yesterday, I was so lost on GTA. So used to x for accelerate, up and down on d pad for radio stations, r1 for auto aim and O for fire. I can't tell where I'm shooting with this game, there's like a tiny ass dot :/ am I just a grumpy old man with rose colored glasses or did any of u experience this "awkwardness" from jumping from PS2 to 3?

I don't think it's a problem with the console switch, it's just that the programmers fucked up. They may think the new button layout is better, but your muscle memory thinks otherwise. Is there not an option to reassign buttons?

Had the same problem with FF7, where the confirm/abort buttons are switched compared to all other FF games that came after.
Ofc you can reassign those buttons (but have to set it to the original setting whenever trying to breed chocobos... <.<)
