Gotta love all the "facts" people come up with by visiting various nut job sites. Just the fact that they named a site "sweetpoison.com" should give you the idea that this isn't all together serious and scientific.

There is no such thing as aspartame addiction.

There is no such thing as "sugar allergy". Sugar is not a substance, it is a name we use for a number of substances and your body produces a lot of them by itself. If you were allergic to sugar you would die.

There isn't large amounts of acid in soda. There is large amounts of acid in orange jouce for example but even that pales in comparison with the acid your stomach produces which could almost strip paint. It basically melts beef in a few hours, try doing that in a glass of diet pepsi. If you are having problems with acid it is usually because you are eating foods that make your stomach produce a lot of it, not because the food has acid in it.

If you want to find out facts about sweeteners, visit any of the major diabetic sites that has actually read the research and has a serious interest in their members health.

Ok, in case you missed the point, though difficult to see how.....

Yes drinking crappy sugar laden drinks will slow down weight loss as opposed to not drinking them.

I lose about 5 stone a few years ago and drunk absolutely loads of diet coke/coke zero/pepsi max etc.. during that time. Diet soft drinks do not stop you losing weight.

Diet sodas and sweeteners give you cravings for sugar, but nothing willpower cannot overcome. Great job on losing all that weight, how long did it take you?
