    The vagina is not sterile. The majority of women who go through the menstrual cycle have had sex, meaning there has been the introduction of organisms to the environment. While the body will do the best it can to remove as much as possible, it won't get it 100% of the time and there will be an imbalance not only in cleanliness* but also Ph Levels.
