Have you ever killed a Cockroach with bare hand?

Considering that cockroaches are considered disgusting to some people, and that people tend to kill them for hygiene reasons, I was wondering how many have actually killed one with their bare hand, without gloves or a in-between object like a newspaper.

Well, I always thought cockroaches came because it was dirty.. not made it dirty.. Ive never even seen one O_o But no, I don't have it in me to kill things with my bear hands for no real reason. Maybe clean your house? (Not *you*, the cockroach killers)

that is true, but when people are living in densed populated areas with appartment blocks, your house could be clean but your neighbours dirty.

Don't have cockroaches in Sweden, at least not where I live. Saw them near my hotel in Thailand though :S

Never seen one.

They don't survive in Norway, not hot and humid enough.

If I saw one though I would step on it or maybe catch it, crushing it your hand sounds disgusting.

Never with my bare hands, but I've killed bugs with fire and extreme cold (can of air held upside down)!

The last time i went to Spain I had a cockroach problem. I was out with my family at some local bar, I took my shoes off cos i was playing in the sand outside it. When i finally got back to the hotel i took my shoes off and a cockroach jumped out of it. The thought of walking around with a cockroach in my shoe made me scream! I bashed the hell out of it after, the end.

We've got our own pests, however.. Flies, of course. And several creatures that invade homes and eat paper/cotton. I've killed those.

There is no such thing as a Finnish cockroach. They can't stand the cold.

In more serious manner, no I haven't since I've yet to see one.

I accidently splat one when i was trying to sit down on the floor and one was at the area i was placing my hand. It felt cold and sloppy.

No reason not to, to be honest. They are coated in this filth-repelling thingymajig, so cockroaches are actually the cleanest bugs you can squash :P Which makes sense, since they eat the filth. Wouldn't want it to get stuck on them.

To answer the question; no. There is a distinct lack of cockroaches in my part of Norway, and the three I've ever seen were all at a hotel in Turkey. They met my toes, and left the balcony in an arcing hurry.
