Prove me wrong! No one could bring him down without the buff except for Paragon and they had 500 wipes + a month and a half of tedious progressing on him.

My vote goes to pre-nerf M'uru in Sunwell. Was absurd.
C'thun, pre-fix/nerf. Was quite literally unkillable.

LK 25s difficulty is overrated due to the pacing mechanism of only allowing 50 attempts per week on the boss. It took 6 weeks to kill, but that was in actuality only ~325 wipes. Had there been no limitation on attempts a serious raiding guild would go through that in a couple of days learning a boss. So the real difficulty of LK was the limited attempts mechanic, which was total bullshit.
I also agree with Mu'ru being the most challenging at the time. It was the tightest tuned I've seen anything, and the first boss that really made sure every single person in the raid had a job they had to execute flawlessly throughout the fight.
C'Thun prenerf was the hardest ever!
Ouro is optional... If people had focused him instead of C'thun he would go down quicker...
Why exactly is it useless? The op asked for "proof" that other bosses were harder. This list clearly demonstrates other bosses took longer to kill and were thus more difficult to kill for whatever reason. How would you provide this proof?
And yes, different guilds found different things difficult, but a world first is a world first, it shows how fast whoever the best players at the time were to kill something, which equalises the 'different guilds find things easier/harder' issue.
LK was gated, 50 attemps a week, they said it took them 187 tries I belive.
Don't know where you got that 500 from, but that's not true.
They also stated that their kill try had one guy beeing dced for most if not all of the fight, and that with the boss not beeing gated, they would have gotten him down before the first buff.
I think it had some revolutionary mechanics and thats why its one of hardest bosses as current content. If blizzard would add boss like him now, i think it wouldnt take too long before his down. Thats mostly cos player skills also evolve
not surprising at all, classic took a raid ages to gear up, so progress was also tied to people getting the right gear levels in time
H Rag remains the hardest I believe. H Rag,H Lei Shen,H LK, all of them are the definition of hard boss in modern raiding.
40 man raids dropping 3-4 items, yeah i wonder why dps checks take longer
Perhaps but this thread is about the hardest boss and i can tell you from first hand knowledge that the bosses in aq40 were the hardest bosses I have every fought in wow to date, The only boss that comes close is yogg 25 no lights.
But as difficulty goes vanilla had a huge amount of super difficult bosses. People today do not know what difficult raiding is.
Why is that boss list still being posted? C'thun was killed hours after he was fixed, Solarian had like 4 different versions of the fight before she was finally killable.
