I don't know. With the help of a recently introduced woman (who hates him at first) he and his group are able to use a relic from the past to upgrade their powers, then combine them to power something that can defeat the enemy. That's just good storytelling. Not at all the same layout of the first Power Rangers movie that I may have waited over four hours in line to see as a child.

    OT:
Halo 3. Guess I expected some real storytelling, I don't know why.
Kingdom Hearts 2. The most disappointing everything that I've ever anything'd.
WOTLK. I still think Arthas' ending was lazy.

My nominee has to be Mafia II. It felt so awkward when they separate Joe and Vito in the end, with no explanation other than a minor disturbance in Vito's face. And when the DLC's came no further explanation came... Not sure about Joe's Adventure but I can't remember it telling us something we didn't knew (about the ending).

I enjoyed the game so much that when the ending came, I just felt robbed out of a good experience and it felt that 2k Games let me down.
Still playing the game a little now and then. Can't throw a good game away just because the ending!

me3, such a great interesting story filled with choices and decisions to be ended by some random hologram coming up to me and saying choose red , green or blue and having nothing explained afterwards >.<

wow expansions haven't been that great either but that's more to do with keeping villains like the scourge as a backup for the future rather than destroying it completely...

Mass Effect 3, unfortunately. Not necessarily a bad ending but quite underwhelming compared to everything else about the series. I was almost ok with ending even, until I played through half an hour of ending sequence again to see a different ending but instead got the same ending with a different color.

I've not played many games that I'd consider to have bad endings (still not got round to playing the ME series so can't comment on that one..) But as a general rule I do get bugged when games end without answering the questions and then don't have a sequel to answer them...

Off the top of my head - Space Marine, I really enjoyed the entire game but then a QTE end boss (I've nothing against QTE's but seems a bit of a cop out on end bosses - more on that in a bit) but yeh you don't find out quite what happened, and there isn't going to be a follow on game to finish the story...

IMO unless you've got a follow on game already on the way to carry on the story, you should leave it too open ended, as if you don't get to go back to it, it will piss people off =p

Onto QTE bosses - I finished Splinter Cell: Blacklist on Saturday (the main story anyway) I thought it was a great game! But it struck me as odd how it played out with the end boss. You carefully sneak up on him and then instead of a clean take out like you've managed on loads of previous enemies you jump for his gun and follows a 3 button QTE... After how difficult the game was in places, it just seemed like a bit of a let down to me... (the follow on story etc was fine, and I did like the hamstringing!)

I liked time travel in Zelda: Oot and Zelda: SS. Also Chrono Trigger, Timesplitters and a few, very few movies.
I don't know. Even in like the Terminator, while the movies were awesome, it just lead to a massive plot hole in John's original birth. Or DBZ, where you wonder why Buu wasn't resurrected in Trunks' time.

    Revenant by Eidos

The further that game progressed, it became quite obvious they started losing production funds/assets later on. The game itself was still really good, but the ending sequence was maybe 15 seconds long and it was "don't bother loading your save game, you lose no matter what you do".

I suppose I'm different, and they say diversity is good. I for one absolutely loved the ME3 ending - even more so with the extended cut. Admittedly I am a bit of a fan boy for ME3.

As for worst endings - I must actually say CoD Black OPS II. Even though there are several depending on how you do it - I find most of them emo and lame. Not underwhelming ( can't really call a worst case scenario world war 3 underwhelming ) - but lame nonetheless.

The Mass Effect 3 ending was so bad that if I had stopped playing right when you go back to Earth at the end I would have been happier. My bro and I were taking turns and I did the last level first. He asked me how the ending was and I felt like Token in the episode of South Park after he watched the porn.

    Devil May Cry 2. Ugh.

my vote goes to Borderlands. such a good fun game with a decent story...to end like that...just pitiful. im sure there are others but this is the one thats off the top of my head in the last couple years. honorable mention to C&C4 for just being a overall horrible game that completely crapped on its fanbase

ME3, without a doubt its etalon of how not to end your game.

Rage had a very disappointing and abrupt ending.

    From a looong time ago:

    Lands of Lore!

It took me about 6 months to complete that amazing game, (that was before information was widespread on the internet, having to figure out everything completely without spoilers)
    And then:

    The final boss dies. YEY!
    Here is the credit roll.

    ...

    what?

AND with the Extended cut, the Control ending is pretty darn cool.
I'd say the EC actually made the endings worse. Same vagueness, added fluff, added bullshit, blatant fanservicing.

And Control screams "you dun goofed" when "Shepard" starts using the same words and themes as Sovereign and Harbinger. Its actually kinda scary, as if Bioware were actually saying "yeah, don't do this". And then Synthesis...

    Overall, just felt... Bad.

Oh, otherwise? Erm. RAGE has an awful non-ending.

Agreed with ME3 (obviously). Glad someone else thinks the EC isn't very good.

Disagreed with DX: HR. It was the same with the original - and it fit the game. Sure, it could have been better. But it fit the game much better then ME3.

Haven't played many campaigns or single player games as of late, but the ending to the Battlefield 3 campaign kind of annoyed me. Was very anti climatic for me, but I played it over such a long time-span that I may have just missed something.

    Darksiders 2.

I didn't even know I was fighting the final boss until I got the achievement for beating the game after I killed him. Then the game just suddenly ends.

I guess after spending hours slaughtering my way through monstrous dragons and demons getting my arse kicked over and over only to rock up to the final boss to be a dude with a sword sitting by a bonfire really underwhelming.... He didn't get a cinematic intro like every other boss, his moveset wasn't particularly difficult to deal with and both endings are shorter and more unsatisfying than my sex life.

Jak and Daxter 3, they turned a happy go lucky game series into a dark and harsh world and story, only to turn 180 and end it with the most childish "surprise" ending... Fucking hated it
