Computer no longer detects HDMI connected TV

Hey guys, I've had my sony tv hooked up to my computer for awhile now via an hdmi cable. I mainly just use it to watch streaming shows on the tv. I was watching a show this morning no problem, went to work and yet when I got back and tried to finish the show (having not turned off my pc while I was at work) my computer could no longer detect my tv and vice versa.

I'm not sure what might've happened, as both my tv and computer both seem to be working fine. Could it be the hdmi cable itself? Any help would be appreciated.

I use a nvidia geforce gtx 560 ti graphics card if that matters.

Edit: It seems my tv also wouldn't recognize my ps3 (also connected via hdmi) so I'm going to try and troubleshoot that instead .

If you left your PC on, the port might have been turned off to save power. Shutting down PC, unplugging, waiting a few seconds, then pluging in and booting up. Try that next time.
    PM me weird stuff :3

Agreed, I have this occasionally with my Roku and end up unplugging one or both devices to reset the connection.
