Do you hate Japan?

A lot of anonymous Americans I associate time and time again with still have deep rooted animosity towards Japan and their people, despite WW2 being over, calling them "deceiving". I don't understand though, because on the face of publicity, America seems to now be on positive grounds with Japan, although I am not sure if it's really just out of fear or not, America showed some significant sympathy for their plight during the tsunamis years ago.

Do you still have some lingering animosity for whatever mangled past we have had? What's your opinion on this matter and what do you make of it? I'd like I you gave a constructive response.

Weird, where do you live in the US? From my experience, we tend to forgive and forget quite fast as a people as long as the other country doesn't continue it's shit after we leave. By the way, the thread title is really misleading and could lead to nation bashing, I'd ask a mod to change it to something more appropriate.

Well. I am sure anyone who reads the topic at hand can figure out its not a nation bashing thread. I'll make some edits though thank you. And I live in the middle of LA.

How can you hate (or love) a piece of land? Maybe you meant Japanese government or culture? In that case, the old Japanese government that propagandized nationalism and hate to foreigners is long gone. People there are now more tolerant to outsiders and do not warrant disliking.

Yeah...probably not a very good way of asking your question. I personally think Japan is awesome, and just about everyone that isn't Korea or China seems to get along with them just fine these days.

Nothing that happened in WWII makes me hate the Japanese.

Their ongoing collusion between government and business to undermine American markets does, but that's more of a "hate the government & companies" thing, not the general society.

Maybe not the new Japan. But if you dislike the Nazi's and what they stand for then you better dislike the Empire of Japan (leaders and government. I can SOMEWHAT agree with the idea that the soldiers were 'just following orders' but that's to the same extent that the SS were 'just following orders'.)

I am not. The Japanese government and it's large industries are very closely mated, the same is true for Germany. The Japanese government along with business collude to keep prices high at home, while low overseas in order to undercut American(and others) manufacturing.

Hating on dead people is a waste of time. Besides, "dislike" and "hatred" are not the same. I can dislike Nazi's and fascists all day long without ever hating them.

they eat alot of fucked up shit....aside from that and tortoruing their food i dont mind japenese...alot better then the chinese or any other asian country that bots and ruins my vidya games

Why would I hate Japan?

I don't hate Germans or Italians for their past mistakes in history, why would I hate Japan? WWII is over and almost everyone involved in it is dead. Besides, Japan is one of our greatest pacific allies, besides China.
