Lock/hunter pet question

Been leveling a demo lock, he's lvl78 now. Having fun but it got me curious. Pet vs pets, who's pets are stronger? BM Hunters or Demo Locks?

Or at least, I've never felt threatened by a wrathguard hitting me.
But there are plenty of times where just a BM pet alone has required me to deal with it.

Did you have to deal with it because it was doing a lot of damage? or because of that pets utility? i.e. snare, stun, etc.

DPS wise a BM hunter's pet is considerably stronger than a Demonology warlock's pet in a PvE setting. Although if it really is pet vs pet, the difference shrinks by a good margin. If neither class can do anything bet send it's pet in, the hunter's pet loses out on a few things:
- Kill Command
- Cobra Strikes (procs when using Arcane Shot and causes pet Basic attacks to critically hit)
- Go for the Throat (procs when a hunter's autoshot crits and gives the pet 15 focus, which it needs to use Basic attacks)
- Frenzy (proc that gives a pet a stacking attack speed buff, it won't stack as rapidly as normal without the hunter attacking a target)
- Bestial Wrath

I have absolutely no clue how Demonology works, but I guess there are similar mechanics in place there.

As BM, your pets attacks + kill command do 1/3+ your total damage in PvE....so yeah..... BM pets.

I actually meant if you just target each other's pets and hit the pet attack button, hitting nothing else and just letting the pets swing it out.

As BM, your pets can do up to 50% of your overall damage so even without kill command(which is roughly 1/3 of pets dps), hunter pets will certainly beat the lock pets.
