Which living world leader should I write my essay about?

I'm writing an essay about any world leader of my choice, either past or present, provided that they are still alive. I've been considering Lee Kuan Yew (Singapore) and Shinzo Abe (Japan). My political science professor will give extra credit if we choose a living world leader that he doesn't know. I'd prefer to pick a nationalistic world leader, if possible. Anyone have any ideas for people to pick?

Netanyahu's been funny lately. Or if you really want something to write about you could do some Bo Xilai.

I'm not too acquainted with Bo Xilai, but my preliminary findings indicate that writing a paper on him would be interesting. Thank you for the suggestion.

Uh.. ok random - move two countries directly to the right of your own, even if you have to jump an ocean. Although if you somehow live near the very top or bottom of the planet you're free to cheat a little.

Although Benjamin Netanyahu does have a cool last name.

Among the ones your teacher would certainly know (but still interesting people):
Angela Merkel is not an ordinary person. Certainly has some strength of character. Or you can write about that Italian Silvio Berlusconi, for funzies.
Or the current Khamenei, a figure behind everything in Iran.

About someone he probably does not know... Google Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. A funny guy (if you don't live in his country).
Rincewind: Ah! We may, in fact, have reached the root of the problem. However it's a silly problem and so I am suddenly going to stop talking to you.

I think this guy's story is pretty interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simeon_Saxe-Coburg-Gotha

Not exactly a world leader, but eh.

This sounds like a bloody impossibly open ended topic. Your polsci prof needs to learn to get on the specifics train.

Unless you want to write a satirical piece, you should actually write it about someone who matters. The dhali lhama is a good choice. Just ask your poli-sci prof if he knows the current dhali lhama's real name.

Vlad, you can explain why he is the manliest man on earth, he rides sharks and hunts without a shirt in the Russian cold all the time.

We're supposed to 'interview' the world leader by asking them questions that are based on Robert McNamara's ten life lessons (as described in his documentary). We're only suppose to choose 1-2 of the life lessons to ask.

You might consider Evo Morales, the president of Bolivia. A leftist in the mold of Hugo Chavez, he's the first "native" president of Bolivia. Quite nationalistic and very controversial within Bolivia.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes

If it were me, I'd write about the greatest living U.S. president and painter: George W. Bush.
Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

The president of Turkmenistan would be interesting. He has complete control over the people and culture of the country. He's also a bit of a weirdo. Check his wiki for basic info. His name is Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
