Need help with mac server

ill start with im not anywhere familiar with macs but doing this to help my fathers company

Here is what im looking for

this is for a business that deals in graphic design

they have 7 macs doing graphic design and 3 pc's doing the billing/sales/invoices

i need a 10TB+ raid storage that is mainly going to be used by the macs but the pc guys will need to be able to log into the server and drop/retrieve files

this will all be local files but what im looking for is a backup system raid 1 or similar for redundant backup

any suggestions out there im looking at

Does the server have an available thunderbolt connector? If not you should be looking at adding additional internal storage or if that isn't an option get a network attached storage(nas).

Personally I want to build a nas that runs a distro such as freenas or nas4free to handle my media storage needs.
