    Upgrade video card from 560TI?

    Hi everyone,
this is my configuration of my pc:

    Power Supply:Corsair Professional Series HX650 650W 80Plus Bronze
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500 3.30GHz Socket 1155 95W - GPU Sandy Bridge Boxed
    Memory:RAM DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws-X F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL 1600MHz 8GB (2x4GB)
    Storage:SSD Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB 2.5"
    Mother Board: Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 Socket 1155 Intel Z68 DDR3 SATA3 USB3 ATX
Video card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC Core 900MHz Memory GDDR5 4000MHz 1GB 2xDVI miniHDMI

(I've also another storage, a WD Caviar blue 1TB, a sound card and a optical drive)

I use the pc most for gaming (WoW, Diablo III, FPS stuff...) and I'd like to run some new titles without freezing: like BF4, CoD, AC Black Flag, Batman Origins.

I was thinking to upgrade the video card, turning to a GTX 770: Do I have to change something else first? It's better to wait the next year?

    Thank you!
    Cheers

I'd look into a 7970 on sale as it offers great performance for the price, but if you want to spend a little more look into the R9-290 that releases next week as it's going to provide great performance for what is rumored to be $400-$450.

Might want wait for R290 with customized cooling solution, the stock cooler runs hot and slightly throttles the card.

Yeah waiting for custom coolers is a safe bet, unless you feel comfortable doing it yourself. The throttle thing appears to be related to drivers from what I'm seeing, I get it slightly but not to much, and my card doesn't go over 80C with my fan profile, while a bit loud you won't notice if you have headphones on.

I'd prefer Nvidia on ATI, because tomorrow there is the new bundle (Pirates, Heroes and Spies) with 3 games free. So, with my pc configuration there will be any bottleneck/problem with CPU? It's better to wait next year with the new gtx800 and create a new config?

I'd say wait for 780 Ti release and see how it affects pricing.

Since you mentioned BF4, i would simply look depending on money you have (Always in dollars):

    180-220 = 270X

    280-320= 280X

    400+= 290

    550+=290X

Do not buy a AMD card

GTX 770 or 780 and don't look back

Seeing as you prefer Nvidia over AMD, get a 770, 780, or wait for the new 780Ti to be released.

Any will provide a phenomenal improvement over your 560Ti (trust me, I was in the same boat).

Why not buy a AMD card?

OT: If you want Nvidia it's still a good choice but it depends on the amount you want to pay.

If you have nothing constructive to say then don't say anything.

Medioman, If you prefer nvidia and want the 3 game bundle then wait for the 780 Ti coming up in about 2 weeks. If budget is short then get a gtx 770 which should launch with the bundle today.

Nvidia will be dropping price on GTX 770 and GTX 780 when they will launch 780 Ti on november 7, so If I was you, id wait until then.

think the current thoughts are, wait til the AMD 290 and maybe the 780 ti are released and see a week later, see how the market fairs on pricing, this is a proper price war at the mo

I noticed the prices of 770 in some sites are already lowered to 329, after the presentation of 780TI. I think I'll wait few days and watch the fight AMD vs NVidia Thanks everyone!

Go with Nvidia for sure, their cards and drivers are so much better! Also, brand matters, I have a Gigabyte 650ti and love it, was a huge upgrade from the Radeon 6670 I had before that!

This is the exact one I have, and it's gorgeous!

I strongly disagree with superstargoddess, but yes, that card has a pretty awesome cooler. I would do your research, and consider looking at medium-high-end cards, like the GTX770, which will be a steal at under $350.

I think this card is win-win situation (price / perfomance) :

Funny, I think lately nvidia had more driver issues than AMD.

Anyway, if you are deadset on Nvidia I would either go with a 770 or 780. The 780ti will most likely start selling at 699 dollar, which is just to much imo. You are better of with a 780.
