[Books] Future Job Options for Great Reading Skill?

Hey everyone, if you clicked on this title then I'm free to assume that you (mostly) love to read books. I have great skill at reading comprehension, as well as always getting near-max scores on lexile tests. Reading is one of my favorite forms of entertainment, but I was wondering if there are any applicable jobs that can be gotten through a great skill for reading alone. I'm a very fast reader as well, and I enjoy many different genre's, ranging from a fantasy base, all the way to political, historical, religion, and economical.

I'm sure some of you have to have jobs dealing with this kind of stuff on a daily basis. Perhaps writing reviews on novels for well known newspapers, or something related. I would like to try and stay away from actually being an author myself, I just don't believe I have the writing skills to create something worthwhile, at least at the moment.

Hit me with your ideas! Any feedback is appreciated.

Perhaps an editor of some sort. You could always try to find employment in publishing.

A job that only requires reading fast? Don't think there are any at all. Often such a job would require you to analyse and understand, which isn't done by reading fast.

Well you're limiting yourself artificially for no reason. It's as if you like to play soccer, but you're looking for a job where all you have to do is kick things without doing anything else. It doesn't really work that way.

I don't think being able to read well is much of a skill, unless you live deep in the congo or something.

Just for the heck of it, I looked up jobs that need decent reading comprehension or a lot of reading, and I got the following:

    Teachers
    Paralegals
    Researchers
    Editors
    This passion is a plagiarism.

Working in research science for quite awhile now, I can say confidently that rapid reading comprehension is crucial. This is at high levels, where you need to stay on top of current research, which is being created at a mind-blowing rate. I'm on mailing lists for maybe 10 journals in my field and there's far more work published than I can keep up with, much less keep an eye on related fields for new opportunities.

Of course for science you have be creative, imaginative, a good communicator, logical, organized... not just reading

Reading comprehension and speed is a tool thats applicable to any field that requires an education, no need to limit yourself to specialist careers.

Having great reading comprehension contributes largely to being skilled at writing. You should at least try it out before you say you don't have any skills.

Jobs for people who love to read? Mm mm! Not much comes to mind except may be writing reviews. You might want to find that out from this site that I find useful in all sorts of information if in fact there is something that your speedy reading can get you working on. Any skill that a person has can be used to improve their lives in one way or another. Don’t give up until you have combed this site easylearnreading.com for ideas on this. You never know what lies in waiting for you.

Do you type fast? Apply for a job in the fast paced world of closed captioning? You get all the news, first! You get to type everything up as the craziness leaves the mouths of the reporters, the athletes, the random slob on the street!

Protip: I have no idea how closed captioning works.

    Uh...yes. Absolutely.
